#Canucks play the Canes tonight. VAN played them this season already, and it did not go well.
In that game though, Elias Pettersson (FW) earned himself 2 assists.
That seems to be the trend this year, Canucks bad, Pettersson good. Will that continue?

Even though it feels like we just went through this cycle, it's hard not to feel optimistic about the #Canucks as they make moves through this off-season.
Should I know better, almost certainly. But for the most part... I like what I'm seeing.

It was a task and a half, but I did it.
Here's a list of things that #Canucks fans can feel good about right now.

Honestly, sad as it is, I think the play for most #Canucks fans going forward for the time being will be to dial back how much they engage with this team.
Will I be able to listen to this advice... Look that's neither here nor there.

I'm strangely proud of this one.
Is it about cardstock that we left in Rogers Arena, which stayed for 8 yrs. Yes.
But this story speaks to friendships, youth, and that feeling of doing something harmless and juvenile with your best friend when we were younger than you are now.
Before this website, the 2 of us had a podcast together.
Over 8 years ago, we left physical branding for that pod in a visible location inside Rogers Arena, just for fun...
Little did we know it would stay untouched for years, but now it's finally gone.

Pettersson is looking better this season. That much is for sure.
But will he continue to produce for the #Canucks despite all of the mounting injuries? Or will that added pressure at some point make it harder for him to truly have a bounce back season?

It's a good feeling to know that Demko is back between the pipes tonight.
But despite the rough start for Lankinen, a tandem between him and #35 is still looking great for the #Canucks this season.

Höglander's injury couldn't have come at a trickier time.
Once the winger is back in action the #Canucks need to decide, does he fit on this 2025-26 team, or is his true value for the club on the trade market.

I really didn't pay attention to any #Canucks news this summer.
It was a welcome break. But now... I'm getting sucked back in.

After their 60th game of the season the #Canucks are continuing to tread water at best, and slip out of the playoff picture at worst.
In their last 20 games Vancouver has lost 5 out of their 8 interdivisional contests.
Vancouver has just 22 games left to correct their season.

Hughes remained out of the lineup in multiple games before the 4 Nations break.
The #Canucks have managed without 43. But, there is no denying how much better he makes the team when he's on the ice, as well as the impact he has even when he steps off it.

"Pettersson is gonna go after it, Elias that is"... Sorry, still unclear #Canucks

Hot take, The #Canucks aren't doing great.
Worse yet, Demko having been back in action for over ten games now, has struggled to get his performance back up to par as well.
Where does Demko go from here, where does the team go from here?

This year has been a hard one to watch.
The #Canucks aren't quite out of it yet, but the highs of last season seem like a distant memory by the halfway mark of this one.

Let's go to the board!
After 40 games played this is where the #Canucks stand.
Since their first 20 games they have slipped 1 spot in both their division and conference, on top of falling 3 spots in the league standings.
They have also picked up 7 OTL's in their last 20 games!

It does feel hard at this point to envision a future where together both Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller are #Canucks beyond this season.
But if it comes down to it and only one can stay, the Canucks would be foolish to keep Miller.

Well look at that, this also relates to my latest article. With one of my year end milestones for the #Canucks being that Demko needs to get more starts before 2025.

Alright, let's map it out! The #Canucks big picture after 20 games this season.
11-6-3 record, 3rd in the Pacific, 6th in their conference and 11th in the league.
They have only fallen twice to inter-divisional rivals, whereas 4 of their wins have come from teams in the Pacific
StadiumChinatown.ca retweeted
A #Canucks win tonight:
- Jumps them up to 3rd in the Pacific
- 7th in the Western Conference
- And 11th in the NHL
A loss tonight?:
- Keeps them at 5th in the Pacific
- 9th in the Western Conference
- And knocks them down to 17th in the NHL.
