I disagree with this one. Medrano made a great play, but one INT doesn’t automatically earn you more snaps. Luvu and Styles are your starting LBs for a reason. I’m critical of Jones’ scheme and adjustments, but his decision not to expand Medrano’s role ain’t one.
Does everyone realize Kain Medrano didn't play one defensive snap against the NYG....this comes after a game sealing INT and a solid performance in back to back games...DQ doesn't know how to manage a clock or talent

At some point you gotta question the scheme, not just the personnel. These DBs are covering too much space with little variation in coverage or pre-snap disguise. When QBs can identify your coverage before the snap, they’re already at an advantage. That’s on Daronte Jones.

That’s what happens when you don’t make adjustments. Same defensive looks, predictable pressure, and very little disguise on the back end. Giants made adjustments at halftime, and Jones didn’t have an answer. You can’t keep showing NFL QBs the same thing and expect different resu

The #Commanders' defense blitzed on 39% of the Giants' dropbacks per NFL Pro, but didn't have as much success. They had just two sacks and a pressure rate of 33.9%. That helped Jameis Winston light up the secondary for 326 yards and 3 TDs.

I’m in total disbelief my Commanders had such poor clock management in today’s overtime game against the Giants. All we had to do was kick the field goal and we would have won the game!🤦🏾♂️

Eagles loading up in 2028, when their picks include:
🏈Two first-round picks, theirs and the Patriots’.
🏈Two second-round picks, theirs and the Ravens’.
We’re in zone around 80% of the time. I think mixing in more man with that pressure could create more hesitation for the QB. Make him hold the ball instead of immediately finding those zone windows, and I think you’ll see more sacks and disruption.
Washington is one of the most aggressive blitzing teams in the league — bringing five or more rushers on about 35% of dropbacks faced, well above the roughly 25% league average. That aggression hasn't yet translated into more pressure or sacks (see above), but it does show a scheme willing to send extra rushers rather than sit back in coverage.
Not getting to the quarterback. Washington ranks dead last in the league in average time before opposing QBs throw (2.96 seconds — the longest of any defense), and their pressure rate (pressures generated ÷ pass-rush snaps) sits 22nd of 32 teams at 33.6%, well off the league leader (Atlanta, 47.1%).
These numbers from my pals at @SumerSports
The Commanders aren’t disrupting the QB enough, despite heavy blitz numbers
