Ketterer: "Someone once told me that if you can do the Statehouse, you can do anything in terms of journalism, which I've kind of taken to heart." TSF prepared her for her previous role @DailyJournalNet and now @IBJnews.

Hurt: "Having the experience of diving into an issue and looking at both sides and saying, 'What does this actually do?'" At TSF he needed to figure out and communicate the real consequences of laws for real people across Indiana.

Q: What is the most valuable lesson from TSF? Casey: "It was such a good experience to say, 'this is what it's like. If you like this, maybe you'll like a job in journalism. If you don't like this, maybe it was a good experience to say this is not something you want to do.'"

John joke break: "There are three kinds of journalists: those who can do math and those who can't."

@abrahm_hurt says former TSF editor @janetw5112 was instrumental in being a great mentor and helping him hone his writing skills. "Those are times I'll remember for the rest of my life and some of those friends will be my friends for the rest of my life," Hurt said.

"I just thought it was an incredible experience and being in the media now, at a television station, we do not have the resources on any given day to cover the Statehouse the way that TheStatehouseFile.com does," Casey said.

@StatehouseFile is hosting a virtual alumni panel in celebration of the student-run publication's 15th anniversary at 6 p.m. You can tune into the panel here: ow.ly/rTvK50GFoG2 Or you can keep up with live tweets from us in this thread! #TSF15

Krull: "Did TheStatehouseFile prepare you?" @Emily_Ketterer: "Oh it absolutely did. I got this job and I didn't feel like I was super lost trying to navigate and learn the state legislature and Indiana state government."
