Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Wednesday visited the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu and reviewed arrangements in place for the pilgrims ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
The Lieutenant Governor took appraisal of logistics, lodging, security arrangements, health facilities, help desks, sanitation, power and water supply, emergency and other essential services and facilities, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience for the devotees.
The Lieutenant Governor directed the officials to enhance manpower management to seamlessly cater to the heavy influx of devotees. He also emphasized regular public announcements at Bhagwati Nagar and Tawi Riverfront to ensure yatris receive essential information on time.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the devotees of Baba Barfani and wished them a safe, peaceful and blessed pilgrimage.

As a follow up to our proposal for an Air flight to land in Udhampur, it has been intimated that in principle there is no objection to this proposal. The “Airports Authority of India” has constituted a committee of experts from the aviation sector, the Air Force, as well as professional pilots, who will physically visit Udhampur around the next weekend to assess and work out the implementation of this proposal. The committee shall evaluate air traffic, safety protocols, management and other related aspects. This has been conveyed by the office of the Chairman of the “Airports Authority of India”.

We have moved an ambitious proposal to include #Udhampur as an air flight stopover for the new Air India Express flight introduced between Hindon Ghaziabad- #Jammu-Hindon.
However, there are a number of issues involved and approvals to be sought, also because Udhampur is also like Jammu an Air Force managed airport, but a proposal has been placed on record to have a commercial flight land at Udhampur, if not everyday, then at least on certain day/days of the week. Let us hope, our follow-up bears fruit.

In a historic moment, the residents of Kundiyan and Patroo villages in the Keran area of Kupwara district experienced the joy of electricity for the first time in 75 years. Inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir , the residents expressed gratitude to the LG Sh.@manojsinha_ administration as two 250 KV Sub Stations under the Samirdh Seema Yojan brought grid connectivity to the once-isolated communities.
The electrification project, completed in a record two months by KPDCL Electric Division Kupwara, left the villagers ecstatic. Cheers and jubilation filled the air as lights illuminated their houses, marking the end of decades-long wait.
