THE BMA DISMISSES CLAIMS THAT DEPORTEES ARE ENTERING SOUTH AFRICA THROUGH INFORMAL BORDER CROSSINGS
The BMA has noted claims that deportees are entering South Africa through informal border crossings and wishes to clarify that South Africa’s land Ports of Entry with the Kingdom of Eswatini are secured, with access control measures implemented at designated entry and exit points.
The BMA dismisses claims that deportees are entering South Africa through informal border crossings.
The BMA supported by other law enforcement authorities maintains a presence across the country’s Ports of Entry and continues to conduct border surveillance and enforcement operations to prevent and detect unlawful entry, including the smuggling and trafficking of persons.
It is imperative to understand that any person who is in transit through South African Airports go through international transfers without entering the Republic. Therefore, any attempt to circumvent formal Ports of Entry is subject to detection and enforcement action.

📸 | Minister in The Presidency, Ms @Khu_Ntshavheni, officially launches the National Centre for Intelligence Coordination (NCIC), a pivotal institution dedicated to enhancing our nation's security landscape. Headed by the esteemed Coordinator for Intelligence, the NCIC plays a critical role in supporting the National Intelligence Coordinating Committee (NICOC) in its essential mandate.
The primary mission of the NCIC is to coordinate and synthesise intelligence contributions from various members of the National Intelligence Structures.
By meticulously interpreting this intelligence, the NCIC provides valuable insights that are vital for the State and Cabinet's decision-making processes.
The establishment of the NCIC marks a significant step toward bolstering our intelligence capabilities and enhancing our responsiveness to emerging challenges.
The NCIC is committed to ensuring a comprehensive approach to intelligence coordination in order to protect our nation's sovereignty and support our democratic values. We look forward to the positive impact this institution will have on our collective security efforts.

We are not a law enforcement agency – therefore we do not act on intelligence but pass it on to those responsible to act on it”.
