Continuing prayers for safety and salvation through purgatory as you journey as a stranger in paradise. Remembering this Day as you left us softly and tenderly, to bid goodbye.

Dark night before was anniv of great Loma Prieta earthquake. Destroyed many schools, including St. Joseph Minor Seminary (Mtn. View CA). Would be nice to rebuild+ rename "San Marcelino Minor Seminary." StellaSF has original commemorative medallion from 1924. Father was grandson of Lazarus of Leyte the Lebanese.

"Binondo" a district in Old Manila ("Maynila") is the oldest Chinatown in the world. It was established in 1594 by Spanish colonial authorities as a settlement for Catholic Chinese residents, and it grew into a center of trade that still thrives today. Today it is known for its food, temples, and family-run shops. (source: FB/The Philippines)

For God so loved the little ones, especially the obedient little ones. Those who would carry out His Will, at the cost of crossing out their own will.

C. S. Lewis grew up in a house filled with books. Born in Belfast in 1898, Lewis was raised in a home where reading was part of everyday life. His father owned a large collection of books, and Lewis spent much of his childhood exploring the shelves. He later remembered that there were books in almost every room of the house. Those early years helped develop the love of literature that eventually led him to Oxford and Cambridge. In Surprised by Joy, Lewis recalled: “There were books in the study, books in the drawing room, books in the cloakroom.” If you enjoy our posts, consider becoming a paid subscriber. For two years we had this little altar boy the poster child for our prayerful vigilance in the tug of war btw heaven and earth, btw taxi trips to doctor clinics, hospitals, pharmacies. Also served as the inspiration for prelude (intro) to his trilogy entitled "The ALTAR and The Altar Boy." The trilogy called "When Mars Goes to MARS."

NB takes one to know one. Many folks becoming a no one, a forgotten one. An unknown one. Only known to one's self.

Takes one to know one. But to have won remains unknown. Sew, we pray and are preyed upon.

This can't be adjudicated in civil courts or military strategies because this conflict is inherently a matter of religious freedom. Something addressed by the folks at the Becket Fund (USA). Stats on the number of monastics (lay+religious) in Ukraine per capita suggests that they failed to be "accredited investors" in their vocation. Meaning that they didn't attain enough financial escape velocity to merit their monastic status.
