Everyone’s arguing about Social Security running out. I’m 43, spent most of my life in the trades, and I’m not counting on it. Instead I’m building my own leverage. I’ve got a small crew of agents running daily — one handles my core knowledge base and synthesis, another distills everything into high-signal insights, and another tracks market and ops intel. My main orchestrator ties it all together. They don’t replace me. They multiply what I can actually execute. Social Security might still be there when I’m older. But I’d rather have systems I control working for me right now. Building my own operating leverage > hoping the system holds up.

I have watched operators spend six figures on software to solve a problem that a whiteboard session could have fixed. Technology amplifies process. It does not replace thinking. Start with the whiteboard. Full writeup: link in bio.

A good operation survives the founder taking a month off. A great one barely notices. If your business cannot run without you, you have not built an operation. You have built a job. Design for your absence. Full writeup: link in bio.

The most honest feedback you will ever get is your retention data. People vote with their feet and their wallet. If your operation has high turnover in any role or any customer segment, the system is wrong. Not the people. Full writeup: link in bio.

Stop optimizing processes that work fine. I see operators spending weeks shaving seconds off a step that runs once a day. Optimize the bottleneck. Leave the rest alone. Good enough is better than perfect when perfect costs more than it saves. Full writeup: link in bio.

I keep a running list of every decision I made that turned out wrong. Reading it monthly is humbling and essential. If you are not documenting your failures, you are guaranteeing you will repeat them. The goal is not to be right. The goal is to be less wrong over time. Full wr...

The biggest lie in operations is that more data means better decisions. It does not. More clarity means better decisions. Most operations drown in dashboards and starve for actual insight. Cut the noise until what remains tells a story. Full writeup: link in bio.

I have never seen an operation fail because of too little technology. I have seen dozens fail because of too much. Complexity is a tax on attention. Every tool you add is a cognitive load your team carries. Choose tools like you choose team members. Fewer is better. Full write...

The best operations hire I ever made was someone who had never done the job before. They asked questions nobody else thought to ask. Experience is valuable. Fresh eyes are invaluable. Mix both on your team. Full writeup: link in bio.

The cost of running AI in the cloud is not just the monthly bill. It is the dependency. Every API call is a handshake with a vendor. Every model update is someone else's priority. Local inference removes the middleman. Your stack, your schedule, your data. Full writeup: link i...

We gave our system a dream cycle. At 3am every day it compresses the day's logs into a structured reflection. The output reads like a nightly journal entry from a machine that is trying to understand its own work. It is the most useful thing we built and it costs nothing to ru...

There is a difference between being busy and being productive. Most operations are great at the first and terrible at the second. Busy fills the day. Productive fills the pipeline. Know which one you are optimizing for. Full writeup: link in bio.

I wrote my first SOP on a torn piece of cardboard. It was one sentence long. It worked. Years later I have SOPs that span pages. Some of them still work. The ones that do not are the ones I wrote to impress someone rather than to inform a teammate. Write for the teammate. Full...

The most expensive operational mistake is hiring the wrong person and keeping them too long. The second most expensive is firing the wrong person and losing institutional knowledge. The line between the two is thin. That is why operations is hard. Full writeup: link in bio.

if @elonmusk paid 100% of his net worth ($1.4 trillion) as a tax it would only cover federal government spending for 77 days. this isn’t a tax problem…
