Nintendo is planning to release the compact Switch 2 Lite handheld console in 2027 at a retail price of around $299. The upcoming gaming device will feature a smaller 7.1-inch display with 1080p resolution and will be dedicated strictly to portable use without television docking capability.
The hardware will utilize an updated processor fabricated on the refined Samsung 8LPU+ node. This advanced manufacturing technology delivers a 15% reduction in power consumption and decreases overall chip dimensions while maintaining complete compatibility across the software library.
Excluding the docking station and moving to an integrated form factor allows the system to launch $200 cheaper than the standard $499.99 console.
