Yep. Anyone keeping up with the war knows the below.
But I'm not sure Trump is either being told the truth or reading his briefing materials.
I'm sure Putin is assuring Trump that victory is around the corner.
It is false that Russia has continued to advance unabated. At worst, the frontlines remain a statemate but @TheStudyofWar and others have documented Ukrainian advances. Either the president does not believe the facts or chooses not to.
I heard something this week that really stuck with me:
Both fear and faith require us to believe something we cannot see.
I spent a few minutes talking about that at the end of this week's podcast, after covering the war with Iran, Trump's Russia problem, and some growing political trouble for Republicans.
Sometimes a little perspective is exactly what we need after a week of news like this.
Hope you'll give it a listen.

At my stepson’s high school football game tonight, and this is a pretty big deal by high school standards.
Two 7–0 teams. A big Knoxville rivalry. The game is on cable TV, and we even got a flyover from two Blackhawk helicopters.
Don’t let anyone fool you. High school football is getting bigger and bigger every year.
There’s also some Division 1 college commits and a big-name podcaster here, as well, rumor has it.

Iran. Russia. Ukraine. Joe Rogan. And the midterms are less than three weeks away.
It's been a rough week for President Trump — and some of his biggest problems are coming from people who once supported him.
Lots to unpack in this week's episode, including what all of this could mean for November.
Plus, a few minutes of Biblical encouragement to close things out.

Hegseth reminds me of Trump. I could see him either ending up in serious legal trouble or turning all this controversy into a climb toward the presidency.
I’m not sure which way it goes, but neither would surprise me.
Protesters derailed a Washington, D.C., panel featuring Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday, calling him a “war criminal” and “Nazi.” militarytimes.com/news/your-…
First full day back at work. Woke up at 5 a.m., earlier than usual, so I could get there 30 mins early and get back in the groove of things.
Tonight, the wife and I knocked out a workout after finishing the day, and now my arms hurt, I'm tired, and I really need to keep my new book moving forward.
Back from Florida. A nine-hour drive took 11 because of traffic and wrecks, but glad to be back home safe and sound.
Also pumped about a new book I started this week.

I've been thinking a lot lately about why we follow the news — and why so many people have simply given up on it.
I opened this week's podcast with a few thoughts on that subject, including a promise I want to make to my listeners.
Here's what I had to say.
Saw the Mike Ditka news, and immediately went down memory lane with Iron Mike.
Reading about him again and watching some of those old videos helped rekindle a little of my own fire today.
Sometimes we just need a reminder of that old-school grit and determination.
At a Tampa Bay Bolts game tonight.
Weather has been crummy with lots of rain this week, but we still feel blessed to have the time off and are making the best of it.
