A beautiful goal by a beautiful team wins the beautiful game! Congratulations to Spain (and goal-scorer Ferran Torres) for an immaculate World Cup victory and tournament. A memorable lesson in the value of teamwork, defence and patience.

As a former miler, it’s thrilling to see the record fall again. Scotland’s Josh Kerr carries the legacy of Coe and Ovett at this clip. Britons may feel glum today but should celebrate the extraordinary strides they keep making on the road and track - bbc.com/sport/athletics/arti…
Investment is chasing Canada. Are we ready? Great conversation with Sask trade minister Warren Kaeding

And happy NT Day in Ontario. No Nikola Tesla, no Ontario as we know it. His AC was central to Niagara Falls, the first big hydro plant that in the 1920s powered Toronto’s century-long growth spurt. Thanks Nik
Happy 170th Birthday, Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) ✍️
The man who gave us alternating current, the induction motor, the Tesla coil, and the polyphase system that still carries power to every wall socket on Earth.
He imagined wireless energy before the world had radio. He died with few possessions and hundreds of patents.
Six hour wait and now a replacement plane with no plugs. Is this the image Canada wants to show the world, @AirCanada ?
Has anyone been on an Air Canada flight this year that’s been on time?
Flight to Calgary still on tarmac in Toronto, two hours after boarding
Is it just me or is performance worse? Post pandemic rationals don’t hold anymore, so genuinely curious what’s going on
The Post has had many glorious lives but its heyday as a bold, brainy weekly in the ‘80s was exceptional. That was Neville’s vision. Canada was and is better for it
I was posted in Delhi when John was there for the Times in the ‘90:s. He was the epitome of the pre-Internet golden age of foreign correspondents nytimes.com/2026/03/13/world… via @NYTimes
He loved to tell the story of how he got his start, as a kid reporter for The Globe & Mail in Ottawa who got into a scuffle — he said punches were thrown — with Pierre Trudeau. The paper quickly packed him off to the Peking bureau. He never turned back. Never one to stand down!

Congrats to the ‘Riders and all of Saskatchewan. Best team in the CFL this year. Among the best fans anywhere, every year. And just love that the offence was coached by Marc Mueller, grandson of the ‘Rider GOAT, the late Ron Lancaster. Green & White!

Good performance but odd choice for Grey Cup 2025. Canada Strong, and all that. Now back to Canadian football
Global security will be shapedd by energy, critical minerals and data. China has all three. The g7 has two, and this will get us closer to the third. Nothing in space or on the battlefield works without this stuff. Well done G7

Canada-US relations are about more than trade. In the coming months, a new continental security strategy may take shape. On the table:
— shared approaches to procurement/finance
— sharing of critical minerals and energy reserves
— Arctic security
— space inter-connectivity
We already have a version of a continental shield, but as weapons systems, especially from China, get more sophisticated, Can Canada and the US afford not to be close security partners? And should a trade-security deal be our goal?

Defence minister @DavidMcGuinty spoke Fri about the coming defence industrial strategy. Few details now but it’s clear @MarkJCarney has some big security choices ahead. So does @realDonaldTrump. 🇨🇦🇺🇸have protected NAm for decades — and still can, if we see each other as partners
