4 years ago I secured the initial funding to study cancer & genetic mutations in 9/11 first responders. In the 2026 budget we secured the second round of funding to finish this study. NY stands committed to helping our incredible first responders - and this is proof of that!
Qualified immunity must be guaranteed for our State law enforcement &that’s why I stood up to get legislative intent on the record. We are safeguarding this protection so that our State& local police can continue to do their important work and keep us safe

I’ve driven in fog, torrential downpour, blizzards, vicious winds and every other weather condition - so it’s nice that on my last drive up to Albany it was a beautiful sunny day! Happy last week of session!
As we pass the 2026 NYS Budget, I’m very proud to report that 4 of my bills were included & will soon become law! This is a budget that helps our law enforcement, firefighters, correction officers & sanitation workers - the wonderful men and women who keep New York moving forward

For 10yrs I have served on the Assembly Veterans’ Affairs Committee. It has been a privilege to stand up for those who served our nation & call NY home. As we adjourn our last Committee meeting I appreciate the praise by the Chairman for my work & will always support our Veterans
With the Arverne East project we’re creating new housing opportunities including homeownership with a public pool! I was proud to secure Assembly Capital funding for this project & thank Speaker Heastie & Governor Hochul for their help & commitment to our community.
Today demonstrates the innovation that New York State is taking for governmental employees to further job opportunities. By establishing new testing centers, Governor Hochul is creating a modern and convenient approach for all State employees to advance their careers!
It was my honor to speak at the NYS Police Officers Memorial. We honor the memories of the heroic men and women who gave their lives in the pursuit of keeping our communities safe. On behalf of New York, we are forever grateful. May their memories always be a blessing.
The wait is finally over! With the expansion of @ResortsWorldNYC we will now have live table games, along with the creation of thousands of good paying jobs - kicking off a new era of economic development. This is a game changer!
As we commemorate Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the 6 million Jewish lives and millions of additional lives murdered during the Holocaust. We must always remember, so we may never forget.
