It may be the summer holidays but we Sparkle on! Every Wednesday, we are welcoming children from the community (with their parents/carers) to join us for intergenerational fun. #intergenerational #grandfriends #community #summerholidays #battersea #balham #wandsworthcommon
Delighted and grateful to have just been awarded a grant of £3k to help us remove our terrible gas boiler and install clean efficient Church Ecomiser electric heating. Thank you @RankFoundation @SouthwarkCofE

One of my greatest joys is being part of #BatterseaWelcomesRefugees and seeing strangers become friends and make their home in a place I call home too. Today we celebrated 5 years of doing that with a party 🎈 and our Mayor.

Everything in me feels that getting elders and youngers together in relationships of mutuality is A Good Thing.

We are flying high at Sparkle this week!
We heard from a retired pilot about flying everything from helicopters to jumbo jets. 🚁✈️ 👨✈️All topped off with an intergenerational plane competition! #pilot #aviation #intergenerational #inspiration #sparkletogether

Wow! What an amazing afternoon. We were so thrilled to be visited by @LCBLondon who performed their version of 'Anne of Green Gables' - a wonderful intergenerational story. ✨

Today we had a visit from Wandsworth heritage. Archivist, Emma, shared some images of the Queen visiting Wandsworth and everyone was be able to share memories of the recent coronation and (in the case of the Grandfriends) the one in 1953! #intergenerational #lightandjoy ✨

Every week at Sparkle, we start with a FREE seated exercise class to promote muscle strength, joint mobility and wellbeing. If you know an older person that would benefit from joining us, do get in touch. #exercise #sparkletogether #wandsworthcommon #battersea

Today, we took part in the Wandsworth Great Big Green Week 🌎🌱
We had a talk from a climate activist about how we can we kinder to the planet, and then made butterflies from recycled toilet rolls and cereal packets 🦋

1313 people experiencing homelessness died in 2022, according to new research by @our_MoH, an 85% increase on the numbers recorded by their study in 2019. No one should be dying while homeless, because no one should be homeless.

Great to hear ideas and experience from @StMikesStSteves about running a menopause day. Since we are mind, body and spirit people church is the ideal place to help us navigate this huge transition. We’ll keep you posted as plans emerge.

Hard to divorce this violence from the government’s deliberate efforts to create a hostile, anti-protest climate. Peaceful dissent and protest should never be met with violence
Box of Sparkle flyers has just arrived! We’re going to let the neighbourhood know about this wonderful new initiative that values EVERYONE of EVERY AGE! @sparkleststeves @freshexpression @SouthwarkCofE
