ICE arrests leading to detention in Missouri rose from 1,179 to 2,620 during the first seven months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, according to Deportation Data Project records. Those records show 70.6% of people arrested had no criminal convictions. ICE disputes the project’s findings. St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore will not charge the police officer who fatally shot 17 year old Emeshyon Wilkins in 2024, saying prosecutors did not find sufficient evidence to prove the use of deadly force was objectively unreasonable under Missouri law.
