It's really exhausting for us to take out days, call so many places to see if they're accessible etc. So if you know of or come across these places do write em down in the sheet? (3/n) docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

Experienced my worst nightmare! I travelled from Delhi to London on 9th Nov with @airindia. As a permanent wheelchair user, I rely on my wheelchair for daily mobility. However upon arrival at Heathrow Airport I found my wheelchair to be damaged with its sidegaurds/handles missing

They also highlight how little airlines care for their disabled passengers. There's no consideration for one's personal assistive devices. This is so unfair and unacceptable! Our literal lives depend on our assistive devices, they are not merely objects to be thrown around.

Sadly this isn’t a one time event. Not treating mobility devices with care is far too common. Until when do we must travel with the constant fear of our mobility devices getting lost or damaged simply because we wanted to or had to travel?

Bravo, #Budget2024! Inclusive growth by completely forgetting people with disabilities, not even mentioning them once and giving a generous 0.025% of the budget to @socialpwds for our empowerment. Truly redefining #SocialJustice! Graphic: @shawshank_9

Reeks of ignorance, privilege & ableism. Do non-disabled people ever even for a second consider the fact that it's because of SO MANY barriers they don't see disabled professionals out there & not simply because we are incapable? This view is exactly why we need representation
As this debate is blowing up- With all due respect to the Differently Abled. 🫡 Does an Airline hire a pilot with disability? Or would you trust a surgeon with a disability. The nature of the #AIS ( IAS/IPS/IFoS) is field-work, long taxing hours, listening first hand to people’s grievances-which requires physical fitness. Why does this premier service need this Quota in the first place! #justasking

❗️Friends living in London and/or Brighton❗️ Me and my friend have been struggling to find accessible (wheelchair friendly) housing to rent. We would need to move sometime in August so it's a bit urgent. I'd be really grateful to receive any help at all please!!

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! So sorry this happened @KavyaMukhija it's terrible. @airvistara you need to do better.
Flew via @airvistara last night from BLR-DEL and was hit by the realisation (yet again) that the system does not care about disabled people. Long thread. 🧵 #DisabilityTwitter

Hi @NMMConline @NMMCCommr. We have such lovely walking paths in Vashi, which are made inaccessible to wheelchairs. Meanwhile, the cyclists they are meant to dissuade (?) get in easily.

I was at this bakery getting my fav desserts when a kid pointed towards me & asked his mom about my disability to which she replied "oh no don't look or you'll become like her" & the next time when I passed the kid, he actually CLOSED his eyes really tight Just every day ableism

today's global accessibility day is themed on digital access & inclusion. here's a thread i created to get started on making things accessible. it isn't a comprehensive guide by any means, but might help you get started :) #GAAD #GAAD2023
As a #Disabled person, #Accessibility is my right not a requirement! It should never be an afterthought! (thread)

It's hilarious to see acquaintances going for a hug when they for some reason don't know how to hug a wheelchair user and get all awkward and end up giving a shoulder pat instead😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This happened! A big win for the community 💜 So grateful to everyone who amplified my voice and stood in solidarity with me which eventually led to this!
@cmohry @dprh @narendramodi

Hellu besties <3 A few days ago I asked people on my Instagram to suggest me places which are disabled friendly in Delhi NCR as all my life I've been going to only a couple of places over and over again and I'm bored of the only two accessible places I know. (1/n)

For the cities that have metro connectivity, it'll be v helpful if you'd mention in case the place is at a walking distance from a metro station as for many of us metro trains are the only accessible mode of transportation. Thanks a lottt🥺(n/n)
