Hall effect keyboards and mice have seen an increase in usage by pro players over the past years. With the rising popularity, issues with metal/magnetic desks increase too. Players should be aware and be able to compete on the highest level without worrying about peripheral issues.
We explain exactly what causes this in this blog: wooting.io/post/when-magnets…
Earlier today, our technical teams identified the source of the mouse and input problems players experienced on stage at Champions Shanghai.
The cause was conductivity issues from the material of the desks. A fix was implemented, and we did not experience any further disruption during pre-match tech checks or the matches.
Competitive integrity comes first. We’ll continue monitoring throughout the event and will share further updates if needed.

The VXE Dragonfly X3 Series lightweight wireless gaming mouse runs on hot-swappable 300mAh batteries. Swap in a charged one in seconds while the spare charges on the magnetic dock. No cable, no downtime.
