Replying to @RotoSurgeon
With all of the fantasy football and gambling money on the line from fans (not to mention league-sanctioned gambling sponsorships), the @NFL should take injury reporting way more seriously. Start mandating timely and accurate reports, and threaten draft picks for non-compliance.

Spent the week refining the situational pace assumptions and target share distributions in my NFL projection model. Always encouraging to see an accurate result: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (tgts-rec-yds) - Projected: 12.0-7.8-121.4 - Actual: 11-8-122

Draft Chris Rodriguez at RB45. In 2025 he posted +0.70 RYOE/att (13th), 3.46 YAC/att (8th), an 8.5% explosive run rate, & 11.3% broken tackle rate. JAX gave him $10M to reunite with HC Liam Coen on an ascendant offense. He is a 2022-Jamaal-Williams-esque RB at pick 140.

A lot of NFL Survivor strategy (and advice) is built around “common rules” that sound logical: Avoid division games. Don’t take road teams. Always deploy the best team on the board. Play it safe early. Stick to your preseason plan. The problem? The data doesn’t support many of them. Here are 5 Survivor myths that can cost you value:

Top-24 drafted RBs missed 43 total games in 2025 compared to the 10-year average of 78. Yr/Yr games played has no correlation (r² = 0.0015). Injury rates are highest for RB, and will regress to the mean, so "Bully-RB" builds may not be the high-upside strategy that many expect.

SF TE Jake Tonges is free at TE40, and the market is sleeping on him. Avgs in 6 starts w/o Kittle: • 6.3 tgts • 4.8 rec • 44.8 yds • 0.5 TD • ~11 PPG (108-82-762-8.5 pace, TE8) $5.5M gtd, 0 drops, and a 74.4 PFF run-block grade (TE5). The substation is decimating SF WRs.

Why Kittle's injury makes Tonges a draft target: • Avg NFL Achilles return: 11 mos (15% re-tear risk) • Yr-1 efficiency drop: 20-30% • SF runs 12/22 personnel at ~20% rate (expect higher) Even if Kittle is active, Tonges has standalone value. TE sleeper. Free Rd 18 leverage.

Worried about Underdog news. I enjoyed the old DRAFT app before it got bought out then folded into FanDuel. This IG deal is likely to accelerate UD ditching fantasy innovation for prediction markets & props. Hope the core product doesn't get (more) sidelined. Viva la Best Ball!
IG Group Holdings plc announces that it has agreed to acquire Underdog! Underdog CEO @JerLevine: “With our own exchange and by joining IG Group, we're going to take an incredible leap in what we can offer customers, and make Underdog the place to make predictions on sports, and beyond. IG Group’s scale, expertise, resources and reach are going to unlock our potential, expand what we've built, and bring our products to more audiences.” Press release here: iggroup.com/~/media/Files/I/…

There is no clearer sign that Terry Pegula has no idea what he’s doing than what we saw him do today To fire the head coach and not the GM who destroyed the roster is one of the most mind boggling moves ever
