Effective Altruism gets right that impact should be accountable. But what EA gets so, so wrong is making impact boring, academic, and displayed in a spreadsheet. Impact certificates will not only make impact accountable—but also beautiful, inspiring, rewarding, and fun!

No matter how many "transparency reports" a nonprofit creates—it will always be less transparent than a business (or organization) that has tangible products for each customer or donor. Nonprofit reporting hides the inherent untransparent nature of traditional donations.

Impact certificates will permanently end the nonprofit "starvation cycle." 👇

This works because: 1. Impact certificates verify project impact, showing donors that their money is put to good use. 2. Impact certificates meaningfully enhance the donor experience (without gimmicks), allowing organizations to charge a premium. xitter.cf/natvancleve/status/168…

Impact Certificates create 4 layers of value for donors: 1. Inherent value 2. Social clout 3. Organization-specific benefits 4. External rewards network 🧵

And back to organizations: Impact certs aren't just about profit—but rather complete biz model and project innovation. Being unshackled from traditional fundraising opens a world of possibilities for orgs to create and fund their impact. Learn more: natevancleve.substack.com/p/…

We started by giving to the @impact_verif bundle - they're basically bringing proof of impact to the blockchain through impact certificates, Proof of Environment, etc. Important work! Verified, undeniable ways to show we did something good for the planet + attaching monetary value to the completion of these tasks might just usher in a new & welcomed era of capitalism/society 👀 Thanks to @orgo_earth + @EverGreenCoin_ + @buan_fund + @LunarPunk_Labs + @SproutUpApp for leading the charge ✅
