Tony Armstrong: We say farewell to everyone’s football friend Barry Vernon. Barry was involved in Harwich and Parkeston from 1968 initially as first aid “ sponge “ man up until the mid 80’s. He returned to the Club on the “rescue’’ committee in 2001 that were tasked with resurrecting the Club from a very serious financial situation. Barry played a major part in ensuring the Committee were successful in saving the Club. He was known and loved by everyone in local non - league football. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
