Super. Teams ignore older fans because of concepts like lifetime value.
They ignore how many of us support a team or follow a sport because of grandparents.
Nothing entrenches emotion like a little respect from them.

More to come. It's a race to the bottom. But if people won't pay for quality content then what do you expect?

Fascinating thread. Far too many BS, unchecked stories going out on legitimate outlets
This is an entirely untrue news story.
A wild claim made by a fake ‘journalist’ on social media, and several prominent journalists have fallen for it, including at @thetimes
This is very niche but I will explain…
So the UK are banning social media for under-16s. For me, this will be a big change for sports teams and their approach to social, given the emphasis on enticing young fans.
Yes, everyone will say "they can just get around the ban". And they can, of course.
This will ripple out across Europe too, despite the lawyers attempts to stem the bleeding.
Sports teams, with their (often dubious) pretensions to social good and CSR, may have to change their approach.
Fascinating results but so much changes after that.

Incredible success story in the sport-entertainment space.
Would this ever work in the U.K.?

Fascinating to see the reaction to this interview.
General fans been critical, mostly on the optics
Mansfield fans have supported/defended them
Because they argue, these two have worked hard, grown the club organically over long term & given Stags' fans something to be proud of

Well chosen and executed by Matchroom.
Was surprised it has not been done before. Then again, in the U.K. at least, boxing is one of the few sports where fans are content for their stars to earn obscene amounts.
It is a negative elsewhere
