3 takeaways from the Bears mini camp:
▪️ The offense is operating much smoother
The operation looks far ahead of where it was last year. Caleb Williams looks more comfortable and in command with the motions, shifts, checks, and communication at the line.
It’s still June, but this offense looks cleaner and that should open up more of Ben Johnson’s playbook.
▪️ Special teams had a positive week
The return game has juice. Kalif Raymond and Zavion Thomas both looked explosive and natural catching punts.
Cairo Santos also went 5-for-5, including makes from 55, 58, and 60. That can steal you points and field position during the season.
▪️ No DJ Moore? No problem this week.
Zavion Thomas looks like more than a gadget guy. Kalif Raymond still has burst. Luther Burden keeps flashing. And Colston Loveland looks like a real weapon they can move all over the formation.
