Top Biden officials are in full blown reputation laundering mode, doing a full court press to rewrite what happened in 2023 and 2024. Meanwhile zero high profile progressives are pushing back. Nothing from any major liberal outlets, nothing from Sanders, AOC, Khanna or Mamdani.
You'll rarely find an insider account as vivid and revealing as this from @brett_mcgurk

They will not. This is completely fake. Your company helped Trump snuff out 120 Iranian school girls in Feb & all your CEO said was “it didn’t even violate any of our red lines.” Why dont you comprehend the personhood of actual persons first then I’ll take this bullshit seriously

It's interesting to see a former top Biden aide explain "No amount of public support in polling or public protest will influence how or when those in power drastically change Israel policy" — ie, he's just straight up saying the US is not a democracy. nitter.cf/MichaelLaRosaDC/status…
Here's what I think @mehdirhasan doesn't understand: In the United States, polls don't make policy. Policymakers do. Screaming, shouting, and protesting are cute, and exercising all of your freedoms of speech in defense of the Palestinians is admirable.
But Mehdi is just a spectator. He's a professional spectator, jawboner, and bloviator, so he has no idea how government, diplomacy, negotiation, or strategic alliances actually work. No amount of public support in polling or public protest will influence how or when those in power drastically change Israel policy. Mehdi can hate U.S. policy toward Israel all he wants, whether it's being carried out by a Democratic or Republican president. But public opinion polls don't dictate American foreign policy. Never have. Never will.
Netanyahu agrees with @mehdirhasan and has explicitly said Israel should phase out the financial component of U.S. military aid and ultimately bring it down to zero. Israel can stand on its own. That measly $3.8 billion in annual U.S. security assistance is one component of a much broader strategic relationship with Israel that will NEVER be reversed. Ending that financial assistance wouldn't, by itself, end the U.S.-Israel alliance or the decades-long security, intelligence, defense, and diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
Military aid or no military aid, the fundamental question for American policymakers remains the same: What relationship with Israel best serves U.S. interests in the Middle East? Good debate to have. But he and his friends are delusional if they think the goal of U.S. policy is or will ever be to subjugate Israel—or suddenly recast a longstanding democratic ally and strategic partner as an American adversary on par with Putin's Russia.
They can advocate for changing U.S. policy toward Israel (also delusional, btw). That's entirely legitimate. But ending military aid is not the same thing as ending the U.S.-Israel strategic relationship, much less turning Israel into an enemy of the United States.

A trillion-dollar military running short of missiles after six months tells you what the system actually produces: not strategic endurance, but corporate profit. The Pentagon is less a war economy than a machine for transferring public wealth to private capital.

Almost everything you are hearing in mainstream news about the supposed lack of popularity of progressive policies on police and prisons is a lie. Shifting resources from police/punishment to social services is one of the most consistently popular policies polled for 40 years.

if you’re a democrat looking to disown police abolitionists the least you can do is have the decency to look them in the eye and tell them you now think they’re overreacting to police killing black people. none of this cowardly “woke 1” smokescreen

This is happening in Ein al-Helweh, occupied West Bank.
Armed Israeli settlers emptied Palestinian water tanks, deliberately depriving Palestinian families of their water supply.
In the scorching heat of the Jordan Valley, deliberately depriving a population of water is not merely cruel.
It is an act of genocide.

Nice Grok query. Here’s a passage I remember from a book I read by Reagan’s first Secretary of State Al Haig
Noah is clueless about the Khmer Rouge and Reagan.
Of course, the politically illiterate groyper guy, @scottlong1980 Scott Long, reposts things without fact-checking. Long's late mother, the Jim Crow South racist and imbecile, probably homeschooled Long, who struggled to be accepted to Radford University. @hrw fired Long in 2010 for defending @khamenei_ir's Islamist terrorist regime.
See Grok about the Regan and Khmer Rouge:
Reagan Library statements and directives:Statement by Deputy Press Secretary Larry Speakes on the Situation in Kampuchea (September 22, 1983): Explicitly states the U.S. gives “moral, diplomatic, and political support” only to the non-communist elements and provides “no assistance to and [has] no contact with the Khmer Rouge.”
Reagan’s signing statement on H.J. Res. 602 (October 18, 1988): Affirms support for Vietnamese withdrawal and measures to prevent a Khmer Rouge return to power.
National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 158 (January 9, 1985) on U.S. Policy in Southeast Asia (The Kampuchea Problem): Approves strategy focused on supporting non-communist resistance, following ASEAN’s lead, and eschewing contact with the Khmer Rouge while seeking to grow non-communist strength relative to them.
NSDD 319 (November 14, 1988) on U.S. Policy Towards Indochina: Continues emphasis on a settlement that prevents Khmer Rouge return and boosts democratic alternatives

This is all that remains of the body of a young man... He was trying to survive with a bag of flour to feed his family, but Israel insisted on leaving behind nothing of him but these bones. Beside those bones, this ID card was found, no one knows, it might be his, or it might not.
Instead of these young men going to their jobs, persevering, succeeding, and excelling in their fields, their bones lie scattered on the roads. Fate may bring us together to find them, or time may bury them away forever.

I haven't seen anyone outside of Argentine media talking about this, but their government is violently handing over Indigenous lands to zionists and foreigners. This has been going on for a while, but it happened recently in Jujuy, and it is important to highlight this issue!

Flock cameras at a gun range.
Not facing the road.
Pointed straight into the parking lot so they capture every single license plate and person that enters.
“I love being in a surveillance state 🩷”
This isn’t public safety. And in this instance, it can target your 2A rights. It’s a nationwide tracking network logging where lawful gun owners go, when they go, and who they’re with. No warrant. No suspicion. Just constant, automated collection fed into a searchable police database spanning 49 states.
But it’s not just lawful gun ownership. Over 100,000 of these cameras. Tens of billions of scans a month. Officers already caught abusing it to stalk exes. Cities are canceling contracts. People are tearing them down.
They don’t need your consent. They just need you to keep driving past them.
