🚨 Harry Kane on winning the Ballon d’Or ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal:
“They were campaigning for the Ballon d’Or while I was quiet. I didn’t need to convince anybody. Now look who’s talking.” (laughs)
“Mbappé was the one I feared the least. I respect him, but Real Madrid went trophyless. Tell me honestly, how was he supposed to win the Ballon d’Or after a season like that?
“And Yamal? He’s an incredible talent, but people were already giving him the award before everything was settled. His World Cup performances were terrible, and you cannot ignore that when judging a player for an individual award.
“I kept my head down, focused on my football and let them talk. They had the headlines, the campaigns and the predictions. I had my performances.
Now I have the Ballon d’Or, and they have to watch me lift it.”

🚨 Lamine Yamal Congratulates Harry Kane on winning the 2026 Ballon D’or Award ahead of him and Mbappe:
🗣️ “First of all, huge congratulations to Harry Kane. He’s been one of the best strikers in the world for years, and this Ballon d’Or is fully deserved. I’ve always looked at the way he leads the line, his movement, his finishing, and the way he carries himself — it’s something I respect a lot.
To finish ahead of me and Kylian is not easy. Both of us had strong seasons, and the competition at the top is crazy, so for Harry to take the award shows the level he reached this year. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I’m not a little disappointed, because of course I wanted it, but you have to be honest when someone else has been better.
He’s the winner, and I can only say well done. For me, this just pushes me even more. I’m still young, I still have a lot to improve, and next year I’ll be back fighting for it again. Harry, enjoy it — you’ve earned it.”
