Introducing Rhiannon Bowen and Ian Welch; Guildford City’s newest coaches! Both coaches are looking forward to meeting everyone and are excited about taking on their respective roles. #TeamGuildford #SEPerformanceCentres #Swimming #Coaches #Surrey #strengthandconditioning

I was asked to meet with a group of 20 national coach education managers from different sports. I asked them "what is coaching?". They said, "connection, communication, compassion, empathy, listening, understanding..etc". I then asked them to open their text-books and show me where they teach those things to the learners. No one could.

On this day in 2008, with Michael Phelps chasing 8 gold medals in a single Olympics Games, we witnessed the greatest relay of all time... Splits: @MichaelPhelps - 47.51 @GWeberGale - 47.02 @CullenJones - 47.65 @JasonLezak - 46.06 🤯

🧠 Fascinating insight from John Terry. The @ChelseaFC legend openly discusses his learning curve from player to Assistant coach at Aston Villa and highlights Dean Smith's influence. #beINPL #AVFC #CFC

This is coaching. Relational coaching that focuses on people. Communication is at the heart of it. Talk to people, like adults (in this context), not like you ‘own the team’ or them. It’s about everyone, not the leader. And similar principles for me apply at all levels.

THIS is what the @Olympics means!! Friends & family of @ClubMaidenhead swimmer @tomdean00 cheer the new 200m Freestyle #Olympics CHAMPION home! GOLD!!! GOLD!! GOLD!!! #Tokyo2020 @BBCSport #Swimming @BBCSouthNews
