We just successfully concluded the 11th UNSGM Designated Laboratories Workshop.
Among many other topics, we discussed the involvement of the animal health sector and how the laboratories are embedded in an investigation. Report available online by end 2026.
Yesterday the 11th Swiss UNSGM Designated Laboratories workshop started with 61 participants from 16 countries and 6 organisations.
The workshop series serves as a platform to strengthen the readiness of UNSGM roster laboratories.
The 7th Spiez CONVERGENCE conference assessing development in Science and Technology and their implications for arms control treaties concluded today.
The report will be available on our homepage by the end of 2026.

In the presence of @rafaelmgrossi & Federal Councillor Martin Pfister, the Spiez Laboratory was today redesignated as a Collaborating Centre of the @iaeaorg.
As such, the Laboratory will be able to share resources, knowledge and expertise with other members.

Congratulations to 🇨🇭 Switzerland’s @SpiezLab on its 100th anniversary: for more than a century, the Lab has advanced science in service of public protection, including important work in radiation protection and nuclear safety.
Joined the anniversary ceremony hosted by @SwissGov’s Martin Pfister, and had the honour of renewing its designation as an @IAEAorg Collaborating Centre, a role it has held since 2016.
Through its expertise, @SpiezLab supports the Agency with missions abroad and laboratory work, continuing to make key contributions to global nuclear safety and to our shared goal of protecting people and the environment.
