Dear @MLB & Peanut Project community: I present you the site & view from Carrie Derrick, with a render of the potential view of the future @Montreal_Expos stadium... as well as some videos showing exactly how much Public (all levels of government) have "skin in the game," spending $52M to clean up the site, as part of a broader $282M improvement to the Bridge-Bonaventure area. I'll add more in replies.

As we’ve made progress on the capital and strategic partner fronts, and await a final decision from the @MTL_Ville regarding land, we’ll soon turn our attention to the next phase: a website, branding, and a more formal identity for the group leading the effort to restore the @Montreal_Expos. Many have asked about the Expos trademark, which @MLB wisely retained when the franchise became the @Nationals—a team and organization we’ll always love and respect for keeping the flame alive. I’m not dogmatic or territorial about any of this. We’ll have a proper conversation about branding, including the team’s eventual identity. And yes, if you emailed me, ping my inbox please and make sure you submitted your info in the document linked in the replies. It's incredible how well we have managed everything from a "CIO" perspective (Chief Information Officer). But first, there’s the question of what we call the group leading the restoration effort. I’ve explained before why I chose the name Peanut Project. It served its purpose. But we’re clearly entering a new phase. So here's my question to you: Do we keep the Peanut Project name, or is it time to adopt something more formal—like the "Montreal Baseball Restoration Project" or "Expos Restoration Project?" Bear in mind, MLB owns the Expos trademark, so in my "târofy" (etiquette/politeness) demeanour, I feel it is presumptuous to use Expos, but I also think it could work... and, of course, we need to have something that makes sense dans la langue de Moliere and Shakespeare, because this obviously needs added complexity :) I’m genuinely curious what you think. Some info, below, for inspiration.

Credit to ASHKAN for leading the way, for pushing, insisting, convincing, putting in the work & for believing. I’ve been very pessimistic about the return of MLB to Montreal. But, it’s time for everyone to get on board & do their part. It’s most likely our last chance #Expos
Could @MLB return to Montreal? I joined Jeff Passan to make the case for why Montreal deserves serious consideration as MLB prepares for a potential expansion to 32 teams. More than 20 years after the @Montreal_Expos left for Washington, Montreal is once again being discussed alongside cities including Salt Lake City, Nashville, Raleigh, Orlando and Portland as a potential home for an MLB expansion franchise. This is a 10-min interview excerpt from his podcast which breaks down Montreal's strengths, the challenges still facing a potential bid, and what it could take to bring big-league baseball back to the city. Links to the interview excerpt and full episodes in the replies.

Converting the skeptics (which is healthy) one by one... thank you Mr Bloom! @Montreal is gathering storm... come hell or high water, @Montreal_Expos ... LFG!
MLB always goes back to where it once was. If the money's really there they'll go back to Montreal.

In the Hall of Fame of Americans who helped bring back the @Montreal_Expos, meet @DanEvans108 aka Dr. Martin Van Nostrand... joining of course "Jay Peterman," who first vetted me to represent us to @MLB and as long time followers of the #PeanutProject, just two of many missionaries (and eventually, mercenaries, since you do need both to win) who have fought for our cause. Remember kids: We shall fight in the ocean. We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight in the boardrooms, the ballparks and the halls of power. We shall fight in Montreal, New York and wherever else someone has decided that the impossible is merely something that hasn't been financed yet. We shall fight with spreadsheets and stadium plans, with architects and investors, with data and determination. We shall fight with history behind us and the future in front of us. We shall endure the doubters, outlast the cynics and occasionally annoy the hell out of everyone in between. We shall never surrender. And when they finally ask how Montreal pulled it off, we will give them the only answer that matters: We never left the field. LFG.

Submission process started. Since I have no real clue (Mr Bean vibes) how to proceed... I will submit 3-5 spots individually... bear in mind this is the city and not Canada Parks, Canada Lands, Port Authority etc. and other key stakeholders who are sitting on prime real estate for a @Montreal_Expos ballpark & 4C site... but navigating each one requires a hybrid Dalai Lama/Sun Tzu level PhD degree... getting there. #SerenityNow #Namaste
Realize this will sound pretty quétaine to some, but what if I told you the #PeanutProject effort to restore the @Montreal_Expos ends here... because of my paralysis filling out a simple form? Hear me out. I've always joked that you could drop me into the wilderness and I'd somehow find my way home. Give me a two-page IKEA instruction manual and I freeze. Raise billions? Sure. Find prospective owners? Let's go. Figure out where to build a ballpark? Working on it. "Please complete Sections A through F and attach the applicable documentation." We're fVck3d. I was staring at a form to formally inquire about land when it reminded me of something that's actually been central to this entire exercise: Everybody has a comparative advantage. There are things that come naturally to you that other people find incredibly difficult—and things that look embarrassingly simple to everyone else that may overwhelm you. I've spent my career building things partly because I'm much better at navigating uncertainty than following a predetermined series of steps. I can admit that. So, particularly for some of the newer people following this project: don't underestimate whatever your thing is. Your city, your community, your family—or simply you—probably has some use for it. You don't always need to know what's in it for you before deciding to help. Anyway, back to the form. If the Expos don't return, now you know why... :)
