It's a little disconcerting that occasionally I will be waiting for a @SFMTA_Muni bus at night, like right now after 10:30 p.m., and a bus that is scheduled just doesn't show up. Fortunately, one arrived about ten minutes after the scheduled time.

I don't know how I feel about this. I don't like what this platform is/represents now, but I guess I'll stick around. Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary

I live next to where #OutsideLands takes place. I just heard a lot of cheering, so I looked up the stream and the music was the most mundane, tone deaf, amateurish garbage I've heard in a LONG time. The whole song was one line repeated and the guitarist only played 2 notes. Wtf

#SFMuni is conducting fare enforcement on the 38 line today. They got on at 25th avenue as I was getting off. I saw the asshole who lied on a ticket before. He said I hadn't paid, but I had and I even showed him.

@SFMTA_Muni THE 1X CALIFORNIA BUS DIDN'T STOP AT THE 32RD AVENUE TERMINAL! They left everyone standing there!!! It's 7:40 am and everyone is commuting... What kind of service is this?!

@SFMTA_Muni I'm not sure where we are supposed to stand to get the bus to stop reliably here at 33rd and Geary. If I'm on the corner sometimes they keep going. Sometimes if I'm crossing the street and the driver looks right at me as they are turning, they'll stop. Idk🤷‍♂️

Tom Hanks learned a secret about Fred Rogers that no camera ever captured—and it changed everything he thought he knew about kindness. In Joanne Rogers's living room in Pittsburgh, she told Hanks something the world had never heard. Her husband carried a folded piece of paper in his wallet every single day of his adult life. On it were names. Teachers who saw something in him. Mentors who corrected him. Friends who stayed. Family who shaped him. Colleagues who challenged him. The list was written in Rogers's own hand. It was not short. Every morning, Fred Rogers took out that paper, unfolded it, read each name in silence, refolded it, and put it back. No one watched. No one knew. He didn't tell stories about it. He didn't post about it. He simply did it. Daily. For decades. When Joanne found his wallet on February 27, 2003, the list was still there. The paper was worn translucent at the creases. The folds were permanent. Some names had been added over the years. None had been crossed out. Hanks didn't write any of this down during their conversation. He told reporters later that this single detail unlocked the entire role. Rogers wasn't performing kindness for children on PBS. Kindness was the architecture of his private life. The list was his blueprint. Hanks wore Rogers's actual cardigans during filming. He studied the deliberate slowness of Rogers's speech—slower than any voice on television because Rogers believed children needed time to understand what they heard, not just hear it. He learned Rogers swam every day. That he chose his words the way other people choose routes on a map—carefully, with the person on the other end in mind. When "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" premiered in 2019, Joanne Rogers attended. She told reporters that Hanks hadn't impersonated her husband. He'd captured what Fred did when no one was looking. The cameras showed a man in a cardigan asking children how they felt. The wallet showed a man who never stopped asking himself who made him possible. The list is a reminder: We are not self-made. We are name-made. Built by people who gave us something we didn't have—and remembered by whether we remember them. Fred Rogers remembered. Every single day. Until the last one.

I just read a story that was completely believable, but it was fake and it said "April fool's" at the end. April fools day should be reserved for fun jokes. Not for news. There should never be April fools stories in the news about real things. That's bullshit and it's fucked up.

"He was Jack Sparrow to the world. But in a London hospital room, he was just a father holding his daughter's hand—and he never forgot what that felt like." In 2007, Johnny Depp was on the set of Sweeney Todd in London when the call came. His seven-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, had been rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital with a severe E. coli infection. Her kidneys were failing. The machines were doing what her body could not. Johnny dropped everything—the costume, the cameras, the character—and ran toward the worst moment of his life. For three weeks, he lived in that hospital room. The first nine days were unbearable. Fame meant nothing. Fortune couldn't help. Only science, strangers in scrubs, and endurance. He sat in a hard chair beside his daughter, listening to machines beep, watching her fight a battle no child should face. Later, he would call it the darkest period of his life. When Lily-Rose finally recovered, something shifted in him. He had witnessed the quiet heroism of doctors and nurses. He had sat among exhausted parents in hard chairs. He knew he would never forget that feeling. So he did something quiet but powerful: he donated over two million dollars to Great Ormond Street Hospital. No press. No fanfare. Just gratitude. But the real change was personal. Johnny began visiting children's hospitals in secret, dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. No cameras. No announcements. No headlines. He walked through pediatric wards, improvising stories, handing out gold coins, whispering jokes, listening. In Vancouver, he spent five hours with seventy children. In Brisbane, Paris, Madrid—quietly, relentlessly, one child at a time. Nurses said he treated each child as if the moment belonged entirely to them. In September 2024, he appeared at Donostia University Hospital, full Sparrow attire, suitcase in hand. No premiere nearby. No media rollout. Just a man keeping a promise. When asked why, he said simply: "Children are incredibly strong. But the parents… the parents are dying inside. If I can give them even a few minutes where fear loosens its grip, that is enough." "He took his greatest fear and turned it into a promise. And for years now, he has been quietly keeping it—one child at a time." © Tales Of Past #archaeohistories

9:38am on California and Park Presidio there are THREE 1-California buses back to back going westbound. When I need a bus there are none. When I'm not waiting for a bus, there are three. 😅 Wtf @SFMTA_Muni

@SFMTA_Muni I was just getting off the n-judah streetcar on Sunset and a goddamn mom driving her kid to school drove right through the bus zone without stopping. I had to back out of her way or she would have hit me. I feel like better signage or speed bumps may be needed there. – at San Francisco, CA

I always check the arrival predictions for @SFMTA_Muni buses before heading for the bus stop in the morning. It said "3 minutes" so I walked out there and looked at the sign... It said "19 minutes." Wtf😅 – at San Francisco, CA

@SFMTA_Muni IT IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNACCEPTABLE FOR ONE OF YOUR DRIVERS TO JUST PASS BY A STOP WHEN I AM WAVING AT THEM TO STOP. IT'S ESPECIALLY DEPLORABLE WHEN IT'S A BUS LINE LIKE THE 18 THAT RUNS ONCE EVERY 30 FUCKING MINUTES. 1FUCK YOUR DRIVERS. – at San Francisco, CA

"To what extent do you think Trump's actions in Los Angeles are a distraction?" @GavinNewsom: "A hundred percent. It's all about news cycles. Whatever he can to distract. I mean, disastrous economic policies... Even his his biggest sycophant in the country, Elon Musk, said likely a recession in the second half of the year."

The authoritarian takeover by TACO Pedo and his fecal-brained flock of fascists is only possible due to America having the dumbest electorate in modern history. Like Nazi Germany, when ignorance mixes w/ hard held opinions of prejudice, bad shit happens.👇

Why does it feel like absolutely all of @SFMTA_Muni is delayed today? I was waiting for a 38 Geary for 15 minutes and at no point did I see a single bus approaching on Geary Street. So I walked to an alternate line and those buses also are delayed. Wtf is going on?

That post was actually for yesterday. But, this morning I was equally as annoyed because the @SFMTA_Muni bus I was going to actually left early so I missed it. I really wish the prediction times were more accurate or at the very least the drivers would follow their schedules. – at San Francisco, CA

I'm getting really tired of @SFMTA_Muni not having consistent arrival times for their buses. Three times this week alone I've had buses simply not arrive at their scheduled times while I'm commuting to work in the morning. – at San Francisco, CA
