Also, people use icons from games in wikis all the time. And how is using it there any different than making a post with game footage here? Maybe I am just uneducated in game legality, but that still doesn't really track.

Generative AI is not progress. Not for art, anyway. Art is an inherently human creation, where anything AI-generated inherently lacks humanity. 3D artists still sculpt and bend the shapes into characters and animations, while AI users just put words into a blender.
