ALT What is dyscalculia? Dyscalculia is a learning difference that affects a person's understanding of numbers and mathematical concepts. It's estimated to affect around 6% of the population, but is not as widely known as other learning differences. This text is inside a speech bubble on a blue background, with a light bulb in the top right corner.

ALT Is it linked to dyslexia? Like dyslexia, dyscalculia is a form of neurodivergence. The two can often co-occur, but not always. Although some people with dyslexia do find maths challenging, others don't. Dyscalculia is a separate diagnosis. This text is inside a speech bubble on a blue background, with a light bulb in the top right corner.

ALT What are the signs? Dyscalculia makes it difficult for someone to understand numerical and mathematical tasks and processes. Challenges may include counting, sequencing, managing money, reading a clock, judging distance or direction.
