in hindsight "2 years to escape the permanent underclass" was a narrative propagated by the AI industry to boost valuation growth faster by using fear
“hyperscaler”, “buildout”, “bottleneck” all terms designed to create fomo and instill grandiosity
“this makes engineers more efficient” doesn’t quite raise trillions
but “there will be no more engineers” just might
good news from all this financial carnage is hopefully it’s becoming clear that we all have time. anyone that says otherwise has something to sell.
