They had the Jorgensen planes on display at Lowes, and I was kinda shocked with how heavy they were. I'm not sure how they achieved something like that

Vintage stanley planes are still quite heavy, but it felt like a 10lb difference between the two

I enjoy modifying axes, but I definitely plan on getting myself a portable bandsaw. Using a cut off wheel on the grinder is painfully slow

Reground the blade and tested it on some red oak. Kept checking the edge for any slight damage or a rolled burr

Cold temps forcing me to wear long pants, got me looking like I actually work a real job

Made this socket handle for my new gouge. Didn't have a lathe so this was carved by hand

Cleaned up this rusted axe to reveal a decent hamon line. I wasn't able to find a logo, but I still tried to make it look nice

Boys scouts hatchet was already at 17.5 degrees, so I put a little micro bevel on this axe and it performs quite well

Reground this Fulton to about 30-degrees, spent some time flattening the back and got good results

I took the corners off the bevel because they tend to nick my fingers. Tested this in some hickory and the edge retention seemed okay. Sometimes the heat treatment on these old drawkives can be inadequate, but this one was good

Walked back to find someone selling a Genuine Plumb national pattern, even had the boy scouts logo and the original handle. Had enough money to buy this
