Had a fun conversation w/ @ConorJDillon + Gabriel Borrud for #ScienceUnscripted podcast @dwnews Starting from @SpacLab's recent paper, we discussed how much we should "dumb down" science to make it accessible and lowering the bar for saying "I don't know" dw.com/en/moderate-knowledge…

Are the least knowledgeable also unaware of it? How does confidence vary with (scientific) knowledge? After years of working on these questions @SpacLab, our results are out in @NatureHumBehav 👇 nature.com/articles/s41562-0… @MagSimal @fredericorfrCristina Mendonça Andre Mata

Replying to @SpacLab
@SpacLab had 3 abstracts accepted to @CompleNet and we’re looking forward to it. However, the students decided not to go when they realized it would fall on April 25th. I hope all attendees have a great time and the opportunity to learn about why we could not be there today.

We're #hiring an admin assistant @Spaclab! Candidates do not need experience (only knowledge of PT and EN) as we'll offer training. The internship can turn into a work contract. Also, the admin and scientific teams at @lip_pt are super nice! socialcomplexity.eu/2023/04/…

Congratulations to @almeida_d_c for his MSc defense in #DataScience @FC_UL! With @mjoanasa + @CPesquita, David built a large dataset of news, tweets, online searches and looked at salience of different topics (science, politics, climate...) from year -1 to year 1 of #COVID19

He found that salience can vary greatly between fora raising interesting questions on current salience metrics. Is it enough to look at only one source? Great discussion with @ecozzo and Tiago Guerreio. Super proud of his work and brilliant grade and we wish you all the best!
