How are we councillors expected to decide if it is sensible to whack up council rents and borrow over £1 billion for housing if we have no plan from the administration as to how they will manage the £100 million hole in the budget by the end of the decade?

We found out at yesterday’s Finance Committee that Labour-run @wandbc now plans:
📈borrowing of at least *£1.9 billion*
📉running down inherited reserves by at least £150m
And to stop us asking questions, Labour moved a motion to shut down the debate and end the meeting early!

Supporting Southfields shops!
It was great talking to residents in Southfields today about our 3 point plan to support Southfields shops. 20 mins free parking, clean up shopfronts & working with the Southfields Business Forum to unlock empty shop potential

Listening to every @WandsworthLab Councillor declare themselves as being AGAINST a Council Tax cut this evening was hard to hear – they stood on a manifesto promising to cut taxes. They lied. No wonder they decided to end the meeting early. #costoflabour
This just in from our local Southfields Police team - a good chance to meet them informally and ask about anything crime or safety orientated you may want help with: nextdoor.co.uk/p/dTPWccjsrpY… – at Wandsworth, London
Very sad news for a much valued local business - Such a shame that Labour run Merton Council, who own & run the park, think this is acceptable! The venue is now up for rent - Disappointing that they couldn’t find a way to negotiate a new deal with Mario’s. facebook.com/100063747962001…
