"In Germany, teaching the Holocaust is mandatory. It includes visits to concentration camp, museums, etc. They don’t shy away from their own ugly history. Yet the kids aren’t damaged; they’re strengthened, matured, humbled. US needs to do same re slavery. Not that complicated."

Judge Jane Bolin was no stranger to making history. She was the 1st Black woman to graduate Yale Law School, join the NY Bar Association, AND become a family court judge. She shattered so many ceilings in her lifetime AND paved the way for Black women in the judicial field. #BHM

Septima Clark successfully protested & won the right for African Americans to teach in Charleston (SC) public schools — the start of her social justice advocacy! She went on to start adult literacy courses and worked continuously with the NAACP to empower Black adults. #BHM
