NBA expansion news dropped Friday—and Seattle may have a fast pass to the finish line. 🚨 @TheAthletic’s @MikeVorkunov reported that the NBA will spend September narrowing down a crowded list of bidders for a Las Vegas expansion franchise. Meanwhile, Samantha Holloway’s One Roof Sports & Entertainment appears to be the clear Seattle frontrunner, advancing directly to the final round of bidding. Does this mean Seattle has to wait while the NBA works through the Las Vegas bids? Not necessarily. The league can hold special ownership votes in the fall, so the process in Las Vegas doesn’t automatically mean a delay for Seattle.
