Just listening to @pop_village while doing some frustrating admin for the dementia singing club I run, when I heard my own song being played! Cheered me right up! Thank you Le Village Pop :-)
This short but sweet video explains what Nature Songs is, what it is like to take part, and why we do it, all in less than 3 minutes! Filmed at a recent #NaturallyHealthyMay event for @activedevon and @DevonLNP Watch it here: youtu.be/pnpgxsJ5pOw
Big thanks to everyone who joined our pop-up choir at Turn the Tide Festival just over a week ago. We achieved the brilliant feat of learning a new three part song in less than 45 minutes before performing it in front of a big crowd and it was a pleasure to sing with you all!💚
The Songwriting Project was on BBC Radio Devon this afternoon, talking about our Nature Songs programme, which combines singing and nature connection activities... 🌳 🐦⬛ bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0fpqc…

Nature has been shown to help manage anxiety in many studies, here simply rating the joy garden birds bring led to a greater decrease in anxiety than counting birds #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek findingnature.org.uk/2023/01…

Decline in nature connection is real, it matters for human & nature’s wellbeing, it’s overlooked in favour outdated assumptions.
A recent research round-up thread...
Big thanks to everyone who came to Nature Songs today. It was a gorgeous afternoon, with loads of lovely people, excellent singing and some beautiful creations! We even had Paul from @BBCDevon singing along... And the sun shone!

Happy May Day! I've spent the afternoon testing out an idea for the Nature Songs event I'm running in a couple of weeks time, and have created this little cutie!

Can you hear that?! It's the noise of my next newsletter rumbling unsteadily along the tracks... rattling around in my befuddled brain before heading out to discerning mailboxes in the next few days.

Did you manage to have a listen to this album in 2022? If not, there's still a couple of days left! 😁

We had a lovely final session of our 8 week nature connection and songwriting programme "Nature Songs" yesterday, and it was great to sing our song outside, even though it was freeeeezing!!
Here's a photo I took on stage at the Barnfield Theatre, last night, just before we performed four original songs as the Exeter Book Songwriting Choir. It's been a lovely project to work on, meeting some great people and also creating some really brilliant songs! Thanks everyone!
