Dear @defiprincess (Eno Musk): Back in December 2022, I came to you with a community that had 64 members and barely any engagement. My employer was on my neck. I thought I needed a quick fix, probably better content, better campaigns, better community tactics. You didn’t give me any of that. You told me something I didn’t want to hear: sometimes the problem isn’t the community manager. If the thing you’re building doesn’t give people a reason to care, there’s only so much you can do. That one stayed with me. You even gave me your own management template at a time when there were so many gatekeepers in this space. I’ve thought about that a lot over the years. Since then, a lot has changed. I co-founded L2E, which grew to 5,000+ registrations, 2,000+ enrolled students and 1,600+ graduates. I’ve worked with Sonic, Shardeum, Story and other teams in the space, and in 2024 I worked with a group of investors as a Marketing Lead. I became General Manager of Master Trade Academy, a trading academy that is almost half a decade with two operational branches. I’ve organised and spoken at events across Nigeria, from NACOS to universities and blockchain communities. Today, I also serve as Head of Administrative Strategy for NANS, Akwa Ibom State. None of this is me saying I’ve made it. I haven’t. I’m still figuring things out. But I’m also not the same person who walked into your DMs in 2022 worried about a 64-member community. One thing that conversation really changed for me was how I look at people. I try not to measure someone by how many followers they have, how much money they have, or how “important” they seem. I’ve learned to value people properly, even when there are only 10 people in the room. Because I was once that guy with 64 people. And somebody took me seriously. So this is really just a thank you. For telling me the truth. For sharing what you knew when you didn’t have to. And for giving me something to think about long after that conversation ended. I’m not there yet. But I’m definitely not where I was. And I’m grateful for that.

Nigeria’s crypto tax rules just got clearer. The new NRS guidance explains how different crypto activities will be treated for tax. Here’s what you need to know: • Simply holding crypto is not a taxable event.
• You don’t pay tax on gains you haven’t realised.
• Selling or disposing of crypto can create a tax obligation.
• Some crypto/fiat transactions can attract 1.5% stamp duty.
• Staking, DeFi rewards, liquidity rewards and similar income can be taxable when received.
• Moving crypto between your own wallets may not count as a disposal if you still own it.
• Crypto gains are worked out in USD first, which helps separate actual profit from the effect of the naira losing value.
• Exchanges, VASPs and P2P platforms have more work to do around tax collection, records and reporting. The part I think most Nigerians should pay attention to is record keeping. If you trade regularly, start keeping track of when you bought an asset, how much you paid, when you sold it, how much you received and the exchange rate at the time. For businesses, this is bigger. If you run an exchange, P2P platform, payment company or crypto product in Nigeria, tax can no longer be treated as something to figure out at the end of the year. Your transactions, records and systems need to be built with these rules in mind. Nigeria is no longer just asking, “Are you using crypto?” The next question is: “How are you reporting it and paying the tax?”

Nobody's really getting hired off a CV anymore. Anybody can write "increased sales by 40%" and nobody's really checking if it's true. What actually gets you work now is showing people what you can actually do. Not telling them, showing them.

Let's be honest... 😄 Every World Cup, we all become football analysts. You predict the score before kickoff, argue with your friends in the group chat, celebrate when you're right, and somehow convince yourself the referee was against your team when you're wrong. 😂 So when I saw that GATE has a dedicated World Cup prediction hub, I had to check it out. What I like is that it's more than just making predictions. You can follow featured matches, keep up with live schedules and standings, climb the leaderboard, and make every game a little more exciting if you're already watching the tournament. Whether you're backing the favorites or calling a shocking upset, it's a fun way to test how good your football instincts really are. If you're a football fan and into Web3, it's definitely worth exploring. ⚽ Check it out: gate.com/competition/footbal… If you're New to @Gate? Use the promo code *WELCOME* to claim up to $100 in rewards plus a 50% bonus on your first deposit. Have you predicted any World Cup upsets correctly so far? 👀👇 #GatePolymarket

A lot of Web3 projects think they have a growth problem. Most actually have a retention problem. Here's what usually happens: The team spends heavily on campaigns, quests, incentives, ambassador programs, and partnerships. Thousands of people join. Engagement spikes. Everyone celebrates. Then 30 days later, activity drops and the team starts looking for the next campaign to "revive" the community. The problem isn't that people aren't joining. The problem is that nobody is staying. Why? Because incentives brought them in, but nothing convinced them to stay. If your community only shows up when rewards are available, you don't have a community yet. You have traffic. A few ways projects can improve retention: 🔸Give members an identity beyond being users 🔸Recognize contributors publicly 🔸Create discussions that aren't reward-driven 🔸Build regional communities and local champions 🔸Make members feel like they're helping shape the project Growth gets people through the door. Retention gives them a reason to keep coming back.
