HOLY CRAP. "[Cold fusion] is not just a source of energy. It's bigger than that." Think NEW nuclear detection technologies, entirely new devices, and whole categories of DEEP TECH we haven't built yet. 🤯 Former NSF program manager Paul Werbos says the key may already be sitting in Michael McKubre's ¹ experimental data. He's examined some of it himself and says nobody has yet explained it numerically. That's why Werbos wants cold fusion treated as a serious test bed for physics beyond the current Standard Model. 👉 Explain McKubre's data. Make new predictions. Build the technology. Then we'll find out just how big "bigger than that" really is. ¹ solidstatefusion.org/2024/05… (will cover this & more in depth soon)

“I expect, that on a scale of ten years—maybe a little more, maybe a little less—products will come to market and they will be recognized as profound. In other words, they will get the same kind of reception the cell phone got. And the people will want to have low cost, reliable, safe, radiation-free, radioactivity-free energy in their homes. And it will be a wave that will sweep the world.” Dr. David Nagel is a Research Professor at the George Washington University and has devoted much of his life studying low energy nuclear reactions and noise in solar cells. This interview was conducted by Lily Noyes and Micah Brown from the Solid State Fusion team at ICCF-27 in Niagara Falls, Canada, 2026. #ICCF27 #Fusion #Energy

We can repair the climate—we have the technology—but we must act now. Our January @WeDontHaveTime article kicks off the year by outlining how far we’ve come in the battle to decarbonize and how climate action is not only the ethical path forward but the most pragmatic course of action for health, stability, economic resilience, and political security. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Michael McKubre, a brilliant electrochemist and experimentalist in the LENR field. His work exemplified rigor, humility, and collaboration in the pursuit of innovative clean energy solutions. As Director of the Energy Research Center at SRI International, Michael devoted his career to the careful experimental study of new energy possibilities. He believed that the world’s most urgent problem was how humanity will power its future, and he dedicated decades of research to addressing that challenge with integrity and perseverance. Michael was not just a brilliant scientist but a generous colleague and a thoughtful leader. He contributed to building a community of inquiry grounded in respect, fairness, and shared purpose, reminding us that good science and good community are inseparable. We honor his memory by carrying forward his commitment to rigorous research, open collaboration, and the search for sustainable energy for all. #Science #Legend

To close out #ICCF26, Florian Metzler presented his team’s work on a modular platform for Pd and Ti gas-loading experiments—featuring real-time radiation detection and detailed surface mapping. Florian also shared his perspective on why the field is still at a stalemate and what is needed to cause a phase change in the field.

At #ICCF26, Monu Kumawat presented his team’s research on transmutations during light water electrolysis and hydrogen gas loading. He found that light water electrolysis of Ni produces significant amounts of Fe, Mg, and Ce, while Cr is minimal and Zn is absent when a Gr anode was used. Different anode material seemed to slightly impact elemental transmutation. Ni isotopes stayed constant, but Cr/Cr ratios dropped. In hydrogen gas, new elements like Fe, Na, K, and Al appeared in Ni.

At #ICCF26, Shunji Tsuji-Iio presented his team’s research on nuclear transmutations with magic numbers induced by deuterium permeation through Pd/CaO multilayer films. He shared findings on CaO layer requirements, transmutations from Cs-133 to Pr-141, and newly observed nuclear products.

At #ICCF26, Giovanni Modanese presented theoretical and numerical work showing that protons in hydrogen-loaded metals with a cubic lattice can form coherent oscillating states tied to high-frequency electric fields—especially in micropowders. These robust states (1 eV per proton) may offer an alternative to the Widom-Larsen "heavy electrons" model and align more closely with mainstream physics.

At #ICCF26, Tomoki Kawarada shared his Investigation on whether anomalous heat generation is enhanced under laser irradiation, performing laser irradiation in addition to hydrogen absorption experiments. He reported that they observed excess heat but found the conditions for heat generation ambiguous and poor reproducibility. Further, the laser irradiation did not have a significant effect.
