This is still one of the greatest moments in gaming: leaving Earth at the start of Mass Effect 3.

But take Bandai Namco on Steam. The rights are theirs, the game is finished, the store page exists, and the region is still blocked. Neither route applies there. You cant license a market the publisher hasnt allowed, and theres no translation to negotiate.

Agreed, those are the right routes, and thats what Im arguing for. But both depend on the rights holder engaging. Japan has licensors and localisers to make that happen, most of these regions have none, and an individual cant license a title the publisher wont sell. Thats the gap

Of course sales change, by the converting share, 25-35% in your own table. Thats been my point since the start, I didnt deny it, I built on it. The remainder never moves no matter what you do, which is why accessibility has been my main point from the start.
You keep calling it harm. By your own standard all of it is harm right now, because nothing is being sold there at all. Make it available and a chunk of that converts into actual money. Thats the entire point, and your data and METI's both support it.
No, it doesnt mean that. It means punishing the people who were never going to buy returns nothing, while selling to the people who would returns money. Thats a business point. Piracy will never be eliminated, it happens in every country. Even METI admits the fix is accessibility

It feels right to leave this here, arguably my favorite piece of music in the entire trilogy. Rest easy Bioware 🥀🕊️
It didnt go anywhere, its not relevant. That group was never buying at any price, so they cost the company nothing and gain it nothing. You cant collect from people who were never customers. The share who would pay is the only number that matters, thats revenue on the table.

Seeing that mini snippet, watching all the theory videos, constantly looking up for new updates.
No game will ever be able to fill the void that mass effect left for me.
I ignored Mass Effect for years, and now it sits comfortably in my top 5 of all time. A trilogy I bought on sale to kill time gave me characters I grew to love and a story I am still carrying, meaning this was never just a game, it was a masterpiece. Goodbye BioWare.

It seems your comprehension is lacking, sorely at that. Read what I actually wrote and take some time with it. You have spent two replies arguing with a position I never took. The supply side isnt sophistry, its what METI landed on after studying this properly as well.

I dont need to engage with that because it isnt a reply to anything I said. If organised operations profit off piracy, cutting their customer base is the only thing that has ever worked, and you cut it by selling to people. Thats the same point I have been making all thread.
