Best advice I've received for toddlers being mischievous was from my mom, who raised her own kids and also taught preschool for many years: Don't talk across the room for them to stop doing something and not follow through. Always follow through. As days go by, they may do something naughty over and over (grab something off the counter, come out of their room when it's bedtime, get out of their chair at dinner, etc.), but all you have to do is do it one more time than them. I've also heard it called "GOYA parenting" (get off your ass parenting). Say it once: "Little Susie, don't touch that vase please." If Little Susie doesn't do it (which she probably won't), physically get up, go over, and stop her hands. It's frustrating because you have to do this with so many things, so many times, but in my experience and my mom's, it's the only way to teach them you mean what you say and are 100% ready to carry it out. Then, and only then, will they start believing your commands as they get older. I'd just advise starting as soon as you can when they're small. Because when they're 60 lbs. at 7yo and you tell them it's time to leave the playground and they won't, it's a lot harder to go over and physically carry them to the car.

Shane Beamer, Jimbo Fisher, Steve Sarkisian, and Mario Cristobal are all off to worse starts than their predecessors through the same number of games. A reminder that sometimes it isn't the coach, it might be the program. But also: It's dumb to judge too early. Patience

There are still millions of people who believe that all the c0vid policies were/are based in science. Any time you're questioning your own intelligence, remember this fact and feel better about yourself.

We are at a moment of truth and a crossroads. Will we allow these people to use fear and propaganda to do further harm to our society, economy, and children? Or will we stand together and say, absolutely not. Not this time. I choose freedom.

I can’t stand how college basketball broadcasts have turned into two guys discussing whatever they want because they are at home. Call the game. The game in front of you is what your viewers are watching.

Tax avoidance is noble. You’re only an asshole if you advocate for further taxation of other individuals while doing everything to avoid it. But tax avoidance in itself is noble.

A stunning stat I read today: 70% of wealthy families lose their wealth by the 2nd generation, and 90% by the 3rd.

I’m all about self-quarantining, I’m also about the health and safety of fellow citizens....I’m not for fear of the unknown. I’m also not for overreaching government control. It doesn’t take much until there is a gold star sown onto a jacket.
Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare (in file pic): Those who have undergone 100% home quarantine, should be marked with instruction on their left hand with indelible ink, so that that this person can be identified in the community. #coronavirus
