Under Pillar 2, Enhanced Climate-Smart Production, we are encouraging all farmers to practise Pfumvudza/Intwasa. Every farmer should have at least one Pfumvudza plot planted with small grains. Irrigation is one of the most effective ways to climate-proof our agriculture, and more investment will therefore be directed towards expanding irrigation development. #FoodSecurityEverywhereEveryday

We have Statutory Instrument 159 of 2024, which designates wheat straw as stock feed. While it may not be as nutritious as desired, we are conducting trainings on urea treatment of stover and the use of molasses to enrich it. Don't burn it! Bale it! #FoodSecurityEverywhereEveryday #DontBurnItBaleIt

Our emphasis is that agriculture must be a business at any scale, for the communal farmer, for the small scale farmer, for the commercial farmer, agriculture must be a business. To our rural farmers be rest assured that even with El Nino coming, Government together with the private sector, is coming up with solutions on how to navigate across these shocks. #FoodSecurityEverywhereEveryday

A harvest lost to poor storage disappears just as completely as one lost to drought; except this loss happens after all the hard work is already done. Store your grain properly, and protect what you've already earned. #FoodSecurityEverywhereEveryday
