incredibly jealous of the swiss and their competent government in 1971 £1 bought you 10.36 swiss francs. today it buys 1.10 switzerland just stays quiet. neutral since 1815, sat out both world wars, no drama, and clearly run by very smart people. referendums on everything, seven people running the country and most brits couldn't name one of them yes it's expensive. but everything works. trains on time, clean streets, and the rich of the world have been parking their money there for a century since 2000 prices in switzerland are up 15%. in the uk 81%, and that's before you look at houses. average uk house was £77,950 in 2000. it's £273,000 now low inflation means low rates. swiss central bank is at 0%. average swiss 10 year fixed mortgage is 1.89%. the average uk 5 year fix hit 6% last week their currency hasn't been inflated away. ours has

Created in 2009. If it had increased with inflation, it would be £174,000 now. But the £100k tax trap was extended to 2031 by Rachel Reeves. The result? - People turn down promotions. - Reduce their working hours. - Avoid earning more. When you punish productivity, don’t be surprised when you get less of it.

It’s embarrassing that the UK seems to be behind the curve on this. What’s it going to take folks? Do you need more blood? More rape? More of your money confiscated?
EUROPE IS AWAKENING. Currently, protests are taking place in France, Germany, Spain, and Romania... This could be the beginning of the fall of globalism – Europe is putting up resistance. As usual, the media are completely silent on this topic!

The budget should be balanced. The treasury should be refilled. Public debt should be reduced. The arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work instead of living on public assistance.

This is so bonkers I can hardly believe you made it. A large part of the 2.5m were unproductive — students, dependents etc. So they had little impact on GDP. But their numbers are included in GDP/capita calculations, so quite the impact on GDP/capita. I’m amazed you don’t understand this. No wonder the three Theresa May years were three of the most miserable, shambolic, rudderless in our country’s modern history.
This is an absurd argument. It's the other way round. 2.5 million extra people will make a big difference to overall output (GDP), much less of a difference to GDP/head

She went missing while riding her bike in front of her dad’s home. 10 years old. And the man who sexually assaulted and murdered her is getting day passes to go free and take cooking classes. The Liberal justice system is sick and immoral. We must scrap Liberal laws. And lock up murderers in maximum security penitentiaries until they die.

Ikram should have been dismissed as a judge a long time ago.
🚨NEW: Judge Tan Ikram CBE, the judge who denied Danny Tommo bail and said he was "satisfied there is a real possibility of an immediate custodial sentence", has a history of being placed in politically motivated cases. . Sentenced a man to 20 weeks in jail for posting a racist joke in a WhatsApp chat. . Let off the OnlyFans girl who threw milkshake at Nigel Farage. . Let off two women for terrorism charged after glorifying 7 October massacre. . Was himself given a disciplinary after liking a post on LinkedIn that stated Israel was a terrorist state. Although obviously not a crime, it did bring into question his impartiality. . He was given a CBE by Boris Johnson in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to judicial diversity. He has spoken out about what he sees as the problems due to the lack of ethnic diversity in the police and the judiciary.

If the Conservatives had won the General Election, nothing would be any different.
TORIES: More illegal immigrants have crossed the Channel under Labour than there are full-time soldiers in the British Army More immigrants have crossed the Channel in small boats since Labour came to office than there are full-time soldiers in the British Army. Home Office figures show 83,279 illegal immigrants have made the crossing since Labour took office on 4 July 2024, overtaking the 83,000 full-time personnel serving in the Army on 23 September 2026. Small boat arrivals under Labour already dwarf the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force combined, which have a total of 67,850 full-time personnel between them, leaving the illegal immigrants 15,429 ahead of both services put together. Across the 809 days since Labour came to office, Channel crossings have delivered an average of barely under 103 people to the UK every single day.

A father of two children has been jailed after throwing a plastic bottle at the police and swearing at officers during the illegal migrant protest in Portsmouth. Sentenced to a two year prison sentence. The judge said it would act 'as a deterrent' Now, let me be abundantly clear. I do not believe that any violence against the police is acceptable. I also do not believe that a two year prison sentence is appropriate, particularly when we are allowing paedophiles and rapists to roam our streets because of a supposed lack of prison capacity. The BBC reports the man 'said he had found the bottle on the ground and was going to throw it into a nearby bush, but was angry and so threw it up into the air.' Reportedly, he told the officers to 'f*** off' and 'pointed aggressively' at them (ITV). I can understand the anger, to be honest. This was happening as illegal migrants were being ferried into his town. This sentence is unfair, unjust and morally wrong. Let's be honest about what has happened here. The establishment is making an example of this man to deter others from protesting. A two year sentence is absolutely outrageous - there are far better ways for him to make right the wrong. The third world invaders are greeted to luxury accommodation as heroes, yet this man will rot in prison. It's not right.

A child left behind, injured in the water, while his father gets onto the boat and leaves French lifeguards to save him. What kind of father does that? Crashing waves. Chaos. A child struggling in the water, while his own father boards the boat rather than staying to protect him. I believe scenes like this expose the failures surrounding these crossings, from the charities involved, to the actions of the French authorities, to the decisions being made by the British Government. People are becoming increasingly angry about what they are seeing. I genuinely fear that if confidence in the authorities continues to collapse, some people will eventually try to take matters into their own hands. To be absolutely clear, I am not condoning, encouraging or supporting violence in any way, shape or form. Adrian

If it was a typo, why was this on your Facebook page? I know you have a track record of struggling with the truth but perhaps just for once admit you were wrong.
Ah. I see the problem here. The first line should have said "Piddington is not JUST an immigration issue". Stop getting your knickers in a twist over a typo. If it's not an immigration issue why am I talking about the ECHR and illegal arrivals in the same tweet? 🙄 If you'd actually been to Piddington, you'd know that putting 1300 men in a camp next to a village of 130 women IS also a women's safety issue.

A typo? Was importing 10 million migrants after promising to cut immigration also a “typo”? Was smuggling in thousands of unvetted Afghans and taking out a super injunction also a “typo”?

The Tories will prevaricate every time. They will only deal with problems they can put in a virtuous box. Which means they won't deal with problems at all - they will simply return to creating them. Never, ever, vote for them again.
Piddington is not an immigration issue, it's a women's issue. Everyone should feel safe in their home. But the women I spoke to in Piddington are terrified, and the Government isn't listening. Enough is enough. We need to leave the ECHR, deport all illegal arrivals and protect communities like Piddington.

You mean a 10th British counter disinformation unit is "long overdue" Emily -- there are already nine. 1.National Security Online Information Team 2.Government Communication Service 3.Media Monitoring Unit 4.Research, Information and Communications Unit 5.Defending Democracy Taskforce 6.Joint Election Security and Preparedness Unit 7.FCDO Information Threats and Influence Directorate 8.NCSC and GCHQ (which investigate hostile cyber activity and information threats) 9.Social Cohesion Taskforce
A British counter disinformation centre is long overdue, and very welcome.

Not another one? We already have the NSOIT, RICU, the JSTAT, the NCSC and the 77th Brigade. Is Andy Burnham saying these organisations aren't up to the job of countering mis- and disinformation? These agencies are always sold to us as a response to a cyber threat from a hostile foreign power, only to end up being used to monitor and censor the domestic population.
