Something I learned about myself when it came to a scarcity mindset is I was prolonging joy. Especially when it came to food.
I would save the best parts of my food for last. Or get upset internally when other people went straight for the best part/ dessert
I learned that I am allowed to have that instant feeling of happiness. I don’t have to wait on it.
Some of this may have come from my religious upbringing that told me I’ll have to wait until I get to heaven to experience real joy/peace. Idk.

Pro tip:
Costco is often the cheapest place to get prescriptions on GoodRx. If you have a patient that needs it to buy scripts, tell them they can go to Costco. They don’t need a membership to use the pharmacy, it’s illegal to have a membership service to a pharmacy. – at Gastonia, NC

This is my “Serenity Prayer” for #socialwork/ing. I will go into the slums, do everything I can to empower my clients with the knowledge that I have privilege (I’m what was known as middle class because I don’t have kids), and know it’s a rigged system we’re in.
@OrganizerMemes

ALT They come to the people of the slums, not to help them rebel and fight their way out of the muck… Most social work does not even reach the submerged masses. Social work is largely a middle class activity and guided by a middle class psychology. In the rare instances where it reaches the slum dwellers, it seeks to get them adjusted to their environment so they will live like hell and like it. A higher form of socials treason would be difficult to conceive.
