Some reflections from me on my experiences campaigning against the Greens over the past year, a certain fringe event at conference and how Labour deals with this threat that is going to spread out from Bristol and Brighton for the next five years.
If you’re a Labour activist and you aren’t concerned about what's going to come from the Greens over the next five years then it’s quite simple, you should be. Writes @seandsmyth 👇 thesocialreview.co.uk/2024/0…

For the TSR, I wrote about social media, Tory backbenchers being too online, and why Neil O'Brien keeps reading Twitter cranks
For one of the many possible visions of a post-wipeout Tory Party, look to Neil O’Brien, an early warning of the sort right-wing crankery that may lie ahead, writes @buffetfiend thesocialreview.co.uk/2024/0…

The New Deal talks show the trade union consciousness in action: deals are ironed out behind closed doors, publicly denounced enemies become supportive partners. It also shows how ill equipped political journalists are to report on it, writes @m_ttpa thesocialreview.co.uk/2024/0…

What does a ‘green transition’ look like? Is it one where good and secure jobs are created to replace those lost, or where 'green' is used to justify further outsourcing and profit at the expense of communities and national resilience? Writes @m_ttpa thesocialreview.co.uk/2024/0…

Great article. A proper increase to child benefit (along with the abolition of obstructions like the two-child limit and means testing) is by far the cheapest way of saving hundreds of thousands of children from poverty, and all that it entails for their future.
Just as pensioners were dug out of indigence by immediate boosts to support and gradually-rising pensions, children should be helped by expanding Child Benefit, writes Brian Townsend thesocialreview.co.uk/2024/0…
