Our thoughts are with all members of the Canadian Armed Forces and the families impacted by the tragic fire at CFB Wainwright. We stand with the military community as they navigate this profound loss, and we honour the lives impacted by this tragedy.
Our Ursula is all grown up now. She was rescued from a dog culling van, how anyone could wish harm on such a beautiful soul is just unbelievable.
Ursula is an absolute delight and we’re praying she finds the forever home she deserves. Can everyone leave a 💜 to wish her luck 💕

A German Shepherd was trapped on the balcony for 6 days and was crying, but the building residents were ignoring it. Neither the police nor the management took any action.
It made sounds sometimes barking, sometimes tired moans, and then complete silence.
This morning, the dog could barely stand and was shaking all over.
Then a biker came.
With a strong presence and a calm attitude, he was looking directly at the building.
He then went inside and spoke directly to the janitor that the dog was dying and he was taking it out.
The janitor tried to refuse, but the biker clearly stated he was going.
Then he went behind the building and started climbing through the gutter.
He reached up to the balcony.
The dog was initially scared and growled.
But the biker used no force. He calmly sat down and gently placed water and food.
"I am here," he said.
The dog slowly approached him.
After a while, the police also arrived, but by then the situation had changed.
The dog was now calm, just hungry and weak.
It was taken to the vet.
And the biker?
He came back the next day too.
Then he adopted it.
Now the dog is safe and lives with the same person who climbed the building for him.
The moral of the story:
Sometimes one person's actions can save a life.

It was a long night. Birdie woke up every 90 minutes or so barking.
Had to figure out which bark meant she was thirsty etc. She was also a bit scared in new surroundings I think.
Her power is still very limited. (1/2)

We used to reach thousands of people, but now we’re lucky if 1,000 see our posts. This drop in reach is directly hurting the animals who rely on us every day 💔.

Birdie is back eating and drinking this evening. She will have to live indoors now we believe to continue her care.
Her little body is tired tonight but I hope that was just a little bump in the road for her ❤️🤞 (6/6)

Travis Rowland supposedly 'had his hands full with this Alberta wolf.' He had a high powered rifle, the wolf nothing to defend himself. Braggart.

Every dog lover should get to experience this…
🐕 Every morning at 6am I get to feed 80 street dogs.
🥘 We actually cook food for 1300 street dogs daily.
It looks like the highlight of their day but it also the best part of my day ❤️

Gigi was dumped in the jungle and came close to death when she came in last week. She weighs just under 5lbs.
Today Hank came in to see her. He said she is under his watch from now on. Anybody messes with her, call him immediately he said ❤️

The keepers say they love Lucy, but at 5 PM, they get to walk away. They go home to warmth and companionship. Lucy remains locked in her cell, the lone elephant in a frozen city, waiting for a tomorrow that looks exactly like today. #SaveLucy #CaptivityKills

It was a rough visit to the shelter for my daughter and me. We went to drop off items belonging to our sweet black lab-greyhound that we’d had to put down a few weeks before. We decided to check out the shelter while we were there. It’s not your standard shelter. This place has horses and goats and bunnies as well. There’s lots to see!
We’re walking around, checking it out. None of the animals are paying us much attention. Then, along one of the dog runs this black lab mix comes bounding out along his run. He doesn’t bark but gets very vocal and talkative. It’s funny actually! We give him some attention then begin walking to check out more of the facility. He runs along the run as if to say “where ya going? I’m right here. I’m your guy!”
We check more of the facility and this dog sees us coming back and starts with us again. My daughter is insistent that we can’t leave him here. We have a volunteer take him out of the kennels. This 100 pound girl sits in the grass and then this 80 pound lab climbs into her lap. He’s facing her but tilts his head back to look at us. Then he waves his paw at us. It’s hilarious! How can you say no to that?
We fill out the paperwork that day, a Friday. On Sunday we are approved to pick up our new boy on Monday. Pure chance brought both that dog and us to the shelter at the same time.
Here’s our boy Chance on his car ride to his new home.
Rescue dogs are awesome! Hope you’ll consider the rescue option if you’re looking for a new pet
