Every player on the planet needs to hear this — over and over again: Remove all the “stuff” — results, expectations, distractions — and just compete. Compete. Compete. Compete. At the end of the day, it all comes down to becoming the ultimate competitor. Breathe. Center your thoughts. Lay it on the line and compete.

Nick Saban said, "Everything starts with discipline." "It's what are you willing to accept from yourself." Discipline isn't punishment. It's a choice. • A choice to be consistent. • A choice to put in the work. • A choice to demand more from yourself.

Bunting for a hit is extremely valuable. It’s a weapon. I’ve always believed that players who can consistently bunt for hits can raise their batting average by 50–100 points over the course of a season, get on base more, and score more runs. Here, I share the purpose and techniques behind the push bunt (one of the easiest to execute if you know how to do it the right way). #DoingDirtWork

Love this. It’s being reposted quite a bit so I’ll join in. A lot being said in just under 2 minutes. Several takeaways, but one for me is cage bombs and constant pull side training does NOT get you better in real time.

Colt, like most hitters, cups his wrist and overuses his shoulders in the swing—and it kills consistency. Here’s what you guys don’t get: even the way you grip the bat is affecting everything you do. Barrel path, bat speed, contact… all of it. Every detail matters. But most of you won’t fix it—not because you can’t, but because you don’t train enough. You don’t get your reps in. You’re not in the cage every day cleaning it up. The players who actually improve are obsessed with the details. If that’s not you… good luck.

Aaron Eden gets it!!! If I were inclined to send my kid to a Hitting Instructor he would definitely be someone I would trust to teach my kid the proper fundamentals of hitting. @artofhitting is also someone I would recommend! Anyone teaching the Barrel Dump swing should be avoided! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @low_and_outside @ROXSystem @BLocsports @TheRealJHair @KevinMench28 @RealCJ10 @JLucroy20 @Dutch_Oven45 @mikepiazza31

Appreciate @CoachYams for hosting coach @KeithTerry_22 to talk ball and about the Mount Tahoma Football Program! Great experience! 🏈🏈🏈 #RaiseTheStandard #MTFB – at Puyallup, WA
RAISE THE STANDARD 💥 Episode 29 out now with Coach Keith Terry! Link in bio 🔗🤙🏽 Coach Terry is the head football coach at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Washington. A proud alumnus of the school, Coach Terry has deep roots with the T-Birds, having returned to the program as an assistant coach in 2020 before being promoted to head coach in 2022. With over 15 years of high school coaching experience, Coach Terry has focused on rebuilding the Mount Tahoma football program by setting a high standard, adding alum to the coaching staff, and getting the community involved. He emphasizes creating an environment where young men become “uncommon” in their approach to life and football. His leadership has earned recognition, including being named Seattle Seahawks Coach of the Week in 2025. Under Coach Terry’s guidance, the T-Birds ended a long playoff drought in 2023 and advanced to the state quarterfinals in consecutive years (2023 and 2024), marking the first such achievement in over 40 years. In the 2025 season, Mount Tahoma went undefeated in the regular season, won the 3A Puget Sound League title, and made a historic playoff run. They reached the WIAA Class 3A state championship game for the first time since 1980 falling to O’Dea in a close 21-14 contest at Husky Stadium. Despite the loss, the 2025 campaign is widely regarded as a defining moment, and setting the stage for future success. Takeaways: 🏈Football is a tool that opens doors for young men. 🏈Creating a standard is essential for success. 🏈Hold Coaches and Players to same Standard 🏈Leadership is about motivating both players and staff. 🏈Building a strong community around the program enhances team cohesion. 🏈Vulnerability among players fosters deeper connections. 🏈Why is Football the Greatest Sport? 🏈Intentionality in coaching leads to better outcomes for players. 🏈Every opportunity in coaching is a chance to learn and grow. 🏈Coaching is about helping kids grow beyond the field. 🏈Aim to be Uncommon #coaching #leadership #highschoolfootball🏈 #teamculture #standard

Young hitters often stride forward — and keep drifting after launch. 👎 Once the front heel hits (launch position), the head should stay put. Drifting after launch wrecks timing and kills bat speed = less power. Lock it in!
