I had never taught using white boards until this year and now it is pretty much all I use. What I appreciated about this conversation that while we discussed the benefits of teaching using white boards we also discussed when not to use them and the danger of overusing them (I am guilty here). @AmberBHaven @AndrewWatsonTTB @SoLInTheWild @bamradionetwork bamradionetwork.com/track/maโ€ฆ

Many teachers are unaware of the power of repeated reading. Repeated reading effect size is larger than the effect size of phonics. Putting the two together could be a real game-changer for teachers. This blog post gives the history behind Dr. Tim Rasinski's work in this area. It is loaded with great ideas for improving reading instruction in grades 1-5. .doctorsam7.blog/2025/10/18/fโ€ฆ

Yes! Let your kid fail. Let your kid do big things alone. Let your kid make big decisions alone. Let your kid! โ€“ at Owens, OH
"I don't think our kids know how to fail today. They don't know how to struggle. We, the parents, have bailed them out of everything. Failure is good sometimes. Failure brings about an internal drive."

Gossip doesnโ€™t build schools. It breaks them. If you took part in it today, youโ€™re part of the problemโ€”not the solution. Be better. Do better. Culture starts with you.

Our school has been working hard on writing & we are seeing it pay off across grade levels! We already have a plan in place for next year to keep the momentum going. The building's collective effort makes a difference. Writing is so important & should go hand in hand with reading
