There are no fans on the back fields this year. So no Cookie Lady. She's been engaged in something far more significant: A fight for her life against COVID. Here's her story (I think it's worth your time):

Workers at @AlDiaDallas and @dallasnews voted 84 to 28 to unionize the newsroom today after the NLRB counted the mail-in ballots via Zoom. This makes our institution the only unionized newsroom in Texas. Today, we celebrate a historic victory for our workers!

Looks like those DoppleRangers had a great view as the ball goes off Jo Adell's glove, bounces over fence, goes in the book as a solo homer for Nick Solak. #TogetherWe

For decades, the stone facade of Al Día and The Dallas Morning News pledged to inform our community with integrity and fairness to all.
It's in the same spirit we, the employees of @aldiadallas and @dallasnews, are forming a union as part of @newsguild 🧵 dallasnewsguild.org/news/new…

This @SmileyPool photo from today's #DBUGrads commencement parade in Dallas is spectacular. It's a nice, rare dose of happiness and celebration given our current situation.
Roughly 350 graduates rode through the campus in a parade of about 600 cars. Congratulations to all grads!

Well, the Astros seem to have broken their relationship with Ryans.
Leave it to Astros ownership to go from one PR disaster into another.
Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan says in a text message he will not continue in his role as an executive advisor to the owner of the #Astros: “I will not be back with the club and will leave it at that.”

This is the same photojournalist who spent his day off on Father’s Day photographing storm damage. Tom Fox is an example of what a photojournalist should be and we are all incredibly grateful for what he does every day. Thank God he gets to go home to his family today. – at Dallas, TX
DMN staff photographer @TomFoxPhoto captured this image shortly before a gunman opened fire on the Earle Cabell Federal Building Monday morning in downtown Dallas. Fox was waiting to enter the building to cover a trial when the attack took place. bit.ly/2XofZ0q
