FROM RESOLUTIONS TO RESULTS: ZANU PF SETS ITS PRIORITIES TOWARDS 2030
The 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi concluded with far-reaching resolutions covering leadership, constitutional reforms, economic development and social empowerment.
Among the key resolutions are proposals to align the Party Constitution with proposed national constitutional amendments, extend the Party presidential term from five to seven years, move Congress to 2030 and retain President Mnangagwa as President and First Secretary until 2030.
On the economic front, the Party prioritised mineral beneficiation, strengthening the ZiG, transitioning towards a mono-currency system, reviewing the IMTT and expanding opportunities for young people in mining, agriculture, housing and public procurement.
The resolutions also address drug abuse, timely agricultural input distribution and improving citizens’ purchasing power and living standards.
The message from Chinhoyi is clear: leadership, discipline and economic empowerment must translate into tangible results for Zimbabweans.
These remain Party resolutions, with proposals requiring constitutional or legislative changes subject to the relevant legal processes.

The 23rd ZANU PF Conference was about strengthening the Party, not dividing it. President Mnangagwa and VP Chiwenga both emphasised discipline, accountability and delivery. Different speeches, shared responsibilities and a common development agenda. #ZANUPFCONFERENCE23

As we conclude this historic 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference here in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West Province, we stand evident by a sacred duty to deliver. Our party emerges from this indaba united, vibrant, and single-mindedly focused on the supreme goal of wholehearted service to the people of Zimbabwe.
In a peaceful and united environment, let us now go back to our respective provinces and districts to explicitly explain the resolutions and discussions we have finalised here. The theme of this conference serves as our unwavering compass of measure. We have rigorously examined the state of our party, and we are reinforcing our political foundation as an engine for national transformation.
We are a mass party with a rich legacy, and this conference has echoed our founding values. Upon this bedrock, we continue to deepen people-centered governance. The party's strength lies in an efficient system, solid structures, and active organs. Every single leader has a duty to be visible and directly accountable to the needs of the grassroots.
In our quest to serve the nation, results are needed as our promises. We are moving swiftly from promises to delivery—from resolutions to results. The resolutions we have adopted require measurable progress, strict monitoring, and clearly established timelines. Any challenges we face must be addressed directly by us as leaders, through robust synergies, collaboration, and an open-door policy that welcomes continuous feedback.
This morning, we demonstrated this exact spirit of delivery on the sidelines of our conference by commissioning life-changing infrastructure projects for our people: We commissioned the 1,271-bed state-of-the-art student accommodation facility built by the Mining Industry Pension Fund (MIPF). This US$26.1 million investment stands as secure, modern housing for our youth, advancing our vision for education.
We officially commissioned the new oxygen production plant and a 100 kW solar system at Chinhoyi General Hospital to guarantee uninterrupted, life-saving green energy.
We launched the Health on Wheels initiative to expand accessible healthcare directly to the communities that need it most.
Under the leadership of ZANU PF, commerce and social development will continue to thrive, firmly anchored on the preservation of our armed history and liberation legacy.
Let us hit the ground running with discipline and unity. United we stand, divided we fall—unity remains indispensable.
But they turn a blind eye to all of this mukoma..
Thank you for setting the record straight.. the bottom line is we are on the right path🇿🇼 #chakasimba chinhu ichi
President @edmnangagwa is the BOSS, & he has done REMARKABLY WELL… Any rational person can see the HUGE DIFFERENCE between the State of Zimbabwe before November 2017 & after November 2017.
VP Chiwenga asked questions, some of them rhetorical, while others actually deserve some answers.
1. Before the 2nd Republic, Zimbabwe was literally a supermarket selling foreign goods.
Now, in 2026, more than 90% of products on Supermarket Shelves are manufactured in Zimbabwe. Even though there are still imported products, there is always a similar local product.
This alone, is enough evidence that the Zimbabwean economy has massively transformed over the past 8 years due to the 2nd Republic’s effective policies and President @edmnangagwa’s exceptional leadership.
2. Before the 2nd Republic, there were no major infrastructure projects directly funded by the govt, NONE.
Now, in 2026, we have road construction, dam construction, schools, hospitals, clinics, & university infrastructure DIRECTLY funded by the govt of Zimbabwe.
That alone tells you that the CORRUPTION & INEFFICIENCY of the past is GONE! It tells you that folks like @MthuliNcube01 & @GGuvamatanga are doing a great job in collecting revenue & using it to fund infrastructure projects. For that, they should be respected & applauded… that’s the least any rational Zimbabwean can do!
3. Before the 2nd Republic, Zimbabwe was struggling to earn foreign currency. That led to huge legacy debts owed to Airlines that sold their tickets at 1:1 (bond note exchange rate). Those airlines couldn’t get forex… we still owe some of them.
Now, in 2026, Zimbabwe is projected to have a $3 billion current account surplus. This means Zimbabwe’s economy is earning more forex than it is sending out! It’s also a sign that Zimbabwe is now producing & exporting more goods than ever before! Adding to that, Zimbabwe’s forex earnings for 2026 will be the highest ever!
If this doesn’t tell you that the country is moving in the right direction, nothing else will.
4. In October 2017, the IMF put Zimbabwe’s GDP at $17 billion.
Now, in 2026, the IMF puts Zimbabwe’s GDP at $56.7 billion. That’s a 234% increase in GDP in the past 8 years under the leadership of President @edmnangagwa.
This increase in GDP is not theoretical, it is VISIBLE & FELT through the massive increase in construction, mining, manufacturing, & agricultural production. Zimbabwe is now wheat self-sufficient. Cement demand is at its highest level ever, fuel consumption has reached record highs, forex earnings have risen massively - all this points to increased GDP.
5. In 2017, Zimbabwe didn’t have its own currency. In 2017, Zimbabwe didn’t have any Forex or Gold Reserves, NOTHING.
In 2026, after President MNANGAGWA’s directive in 2023, Zimbabwe now has almost 5 tonnes of Gold Reserves. This means Zimbabwe has the 3rd largest gold reserves in SADC, the 11th largest gold reserves in Africa.
All this has been done under the leadership of President @edmnangagwa working with the @TreasuryZW team & @ReserveBankZIM team.
6. In 2017, Zimbabwe was experiencing massive Loadshedding.
Now, in 2026, Zimbabwe has gone for 300 consecutive days without any Loadshedding. President @edmnangagwa ended Loadshedding in Zimbabwe, and every rational person knows it and acknowledges it!
7. In 2017, Zimbabwe was, for all practical purposes, a pariah. Almost everyone in Cabinet was under sanctions & many Zimbabwean entities were under sanctions.
In 2026, Zimbabwe has effectively been readmitted into the comity of nations. The European Union removed all sanctions on Zimbabwe, the US terminated the Zimbabwe Sanctions Program, & Zimbabwe was recently elected to the UN Security Council with an overwhelming majority!
All this is because President Mnangagwa has been PRAGMATIC, choosing to be a friend to all, enemy to none!
In short, the 2nd Republic is not repeating mistakes of the past, it is DELIVERING!

Some people don't realise, respect, honour and humility are the glue that holds the party together. As can be seen here, the center is very much holding in Zanu PF.

A moment that speaks volumes about respect, humility and leadership within ZANU PF.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga kneeling before President Emmerson Mnangagwa is a powerful image, one that can be interpreted as a gesture of respect and recognition of the President’s position.
Beyond the political noise, the moment offers a reminder of the importance of unity, discipline and respect for leadership within the Party.

Strong leadership demands unity of purpose, ideological clarity and collective responsibility.
At the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa reinforced the importance of defending the Party’s principles, implementing its resolutions and ensuring that every cadre remains committed to the collective agenda.

I like the way the Vice President’s speech was written, complementing his superior, the President’s speech. It was as if the two speeches were written by one person.
The attempt by opposition elements and political detractors to manufacture a rift between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and VP Constantino Chiwenga following the 23rd People’s Conference in Chinhoyi says more about their wishes than the actual content of the speeches.
A closer reading reveals significant alignment on accountability, party discipline, people-centred governance and the need to translate resolutions into tangible results. President Mnangagwa has repeatedly called for an end to complacency, corruption and resolutions that exist only on paper. The VP’s questions about past mistakes and the need for internal renewal can be understood within that same framework of institutional self-assessment.
Even the much-amplified declaration that “change is inevitable” comes with an important qualification: Chiwenga explicitly says change must be orderly, guided by the party constitution and channelled through established structures. That is a call for institutional discipline, not an announcement of rebellion. His emphasis on collective purpose over individual ambition further reinforces the importance of party unity.
Of course, pointed remarks deserve to be examined in their full context. But there is a fundamental difference between demanding accountability within an organisation and challenging its leadership. One cannot simply manufacture the latter from the former.
The President’s Vision 2030 agenda requires a party that constantly evaluates itself, corrects its shortcomings and remains focused on national development. Read in that context, the VP’s address reinforces many of the same priorities rather than establishing the dramatic confrontation some commentators are desperate to sell.
The opposition may wish for a divided ZANU PF, but wishful thinking is not evidence. Read both speeches in full, examine their substance, and stop confusing internal reflection with political warfare.

Zimbabwe’s healthcare transformation is taking shape at the University of Zimbabwe, where construction of the Quinary Hospital is progressing.
This facility is set to expand access to highly specialised medical treatment while strengthening medical training, research and innovation.
Beyond the infrastructure, the real significance lies in building Zimbabwe’s capacity to manage complex medical conditions locally, develop specialist expertise and reduce dependence on treatment abroad.
A stronger healthcare system is fundamental to national development, and investments of this nature are essential to achieving that goal.
