Simply Johanne screening @paradiseonbloor featuring a fascinating Q&A with director Nadine Valcin, model Linda Carter, and Black Fashion Canada Database founder Charmaine Gooden about the life of Johanne Harrelle, breaking ground as Black models in Canada, and more.

Haven’t seen the film yet, but I enjoyed the book minus its terrible ending.

Unless you are a wheelchair user affected by the elevator outage at St George, in which case you’ve got to get out at Bay and walk to Wellesley in order to go southbound, something you might mention. It is hard to put into words how degrading the TTC is as a wheelchair user.

FYI Blue Heron was not eligible for the international feature category of the Oscars as they require films to be at least 50% non english, that being said, it *is* eligible for Best Picture against other small indies such as The Odyssey, etc.

Noticing there are same day tickets for Marie Madeleine at #TIFF26 and recommend it. Intense in subject, but the chance to see Haiti on the big screen in Canada is rare and it's quite and achievement for the writer/director/star Gessica Geneus
