A selection of photographs showing what @Edinburgh_CC considered a *successful* trial of bin hubs (Albert Street, EH7) at the point it decided to roll them out city-wide.

After the local resident posted their ongoing problem of an armchair having being dumped outside their flat for almost a full month (despite being reported) we decided to see what else @Edinburgh_CC might have left lying around the area.
Read'm and weep:
For the avoidance of doubt, @zeeofgee asked that we remove the photo containing the owners details, and have on this occasion.
But... can we really question @Edinburgh_CC and not others just because they might be residents?

Replying to @Edinburgh_CC
@Edinburgh_CC That would be a fantastic idea for the tourist tax! @SmagSocials @edinburghpaper Here’s the chair that’s been there for nearly a month. What about some enforcement?
Fly-tipping down 11% in Newport. 👏
The council’s waste enforcement team has won a national award after stepping up hotspot monitoring, patrols and evidence gathering.
Good to see the people tackling it getting some recognition.
Other councils: worth comparing notes.

Tail, meet dog.
Our elected representatives serve us alone and it is they alone that must make decisions on our behalf. Not any mere council employee - however "important" or self referential that Council Officer's job title might be.
🚨 Scotland’s ethics watchdog has been branded a “disaster” and faced calls for abolition as a senior judge warned its own guidance on dealing with misconduct cases could be used to justify almost any decision on freedom of speech evidence.

Guess what🙄I KNOW and I’ve reported fly tipping 56 times in one year😑When I don’t do a report, @Edinburgh_CC ignores this offence as their staff walk past fly tipping in this conservation area outside my home🫣Council having a laugh at the expense of a tax payer.
Hi there, thanks for letting us know! You can report fly tipping on our website - edinburgh.gov.uk/litter-flyt…
Thank you!

Morning, wondering if it would be possible to empty bins opposite 1 Warrender Park Terrace? Issue is that a number of bins are not available as blocked in by road works on Marchmont Road (green barrier image) @edinhelp
On the very short walk back from #TheKings to #Marchmont this awaits the weary traveller:
Hard to accuse @Edinburgh_CC of exactly loving the area or respecting residents, that's for sure.
This is why @Edinburgh_CC are considered "failing" and disinterested in residents.
It's is informed of an ongoing problem and seeks just to pass the buck - time and time again.
Perhaps it is time to re-visit local government in Scotland.

Yet again only one recycling bin emptied this morning - despite the other being full & @Edinburgh_CC copied into every post on the issue.
It's almost as if they just don't care about residents in #Marchmont, #Sciennes, #Bruntsfield, #Tollcross or #Southside.
Oh, hold on....
And again. Service agreement was a fly-tipping vehicle every other day due to unique character of area (historic, but a great many HMOs).
21 days, @Edinburgh_CC?
21 days of a fly-tipped easy chair rotting in the street your own crews clamber over!
Here Is a smelly old chair 🤢 Sat in the bin hub outside my living room window for the last 21 days🌅Council bin staff have to keep moving it to empty the bins🙄Conservation area. Maybe it should have a preservation order? @Edinburgh_CC @edinburghpaper @SmagSocials
People sometimes ask... "Is the service agreement really that important?".
Well, welcome to #Sciennes this morning. A tiny area, 7 separate recycling hubs, all overflowing:
Does @Edinburgh_CC give a hoot? You'll probably know the answer to that one already.
Imagine the residents surprise when this morning, yet again, only one of the two bin required to be emptied was. Just had some bags taken out by the guys instead.
Seems @Edinburgh_CC either don't care or are no longer in control of their own crews.

How is this possible. A council actually taking action on fly tipping, @Edinburgh_CC?
Dumped in an alley. Traced back to his address. Ended up in court.
A Warrington resident pleaded guilty to failing in his duty of care after his household rubbish was found fly-tipped.
The bags weren’t the only thing with his name on. So was the court bill.

It couldn't possibly be Edinburgh Council said one thing to residents before installing the bin hubs and now does another after, could it?
Two days on the trot and just the one bin in the hubs emptied, @Edinburgh_CC. Service agreement is clear it must be both. Reason?
